The ICO market is incredibly oversaturated, due in part to simplicity behind raising capital under this structure. Some of the greatest minds in the Crypto space have come out and argued that a majority of ICOs will fail or are scams. Like any other technological breakthrough, hype and expectations typically grow out of proportion.

There are people who argue that cryptocurrency tokens are an entirely new asset class which deserve their own laws outside of the existing ones, but this is not reality (at least not as of now).

There is no restriction on keeping records of any type in the Blockchain approach. Industries are using Blockchain for securing all types of records.
