News: Bitcoin won't be Global Currency

I got caught up in this news last 6 hours ago, most of us participants are hoping that Bitcoin will someday become a Global Currency, why is that?

bitcoin already IS a global currency. in fact bitcoin is the ONLY currency that is global. everything else is either not a currency (like altcoins) or are limited to certain countries (fiat).

if you are thinking bitcoin to be used as the only currency and it replaces everything else then that is not happening.

People like me believe that Bitcoin is a global currency soon. It would not be so, because even now, governments of all countries have different attitude towards bitcoin. For this reason, today it is also legitimate, partial legal and even illegal. Analyzes are still on this issue. Until now it is not a global currency.

Everything that people use and accept it worldwide is considered as global currency.
You can buy and sell gold, silver, copper...even a banana or trade it with clothes for example.
No need for a currency to be backed up by governments to be considered as a global currency, it is the usage of people that make it so...

It is already a global currency because anyone can freely use it but the real problem is the issue about the legality in countries and this is the reason why bitcoin is being prevented from reaching its mass adoption and be used as a medium of payment or as a currency. But I understand why some countries dont want it as a currency it is because of the volatility of it and it is hard to use a currency that is not stable. And I think it will never be stable because it is being traded and people are just into it because of the profit that they can get from investing in bitcoin.

Even if bitcoin has all characteristics of becoming the first global currency, I doubt it will ever happen in our lifetime. Because the nexus of our governments won't let it happen for their own benefit. So as a tech enthusiast or bitcoin lovers, it really doesn't matter how strongly we want it to happen. our government is here to control everything. They won't let go their controlling authority for such a decentralized currency. So majority of the bitcoin holders wish to let it happen but they hope very little about it!

Bitcoin is already a Global Currency.I can order products outside of my continent with bitcoins.Exchange for goods and services with bitcoins and possibly do whatever I could do with my fiat with Bitcoins.I don't see how it is not a Global Currency.If you mean everyone would be using bitcoins instead of the fiat, it will never happen.

In my opinion, maybe it would not be happen it is because not all countries allow bitcoin to be in their market. Though technologies keep upgrading but other countries will not allow bitcoin to be legitimize.

Bitcoin already acts as one, but to be able to use it heavily in almost every day-to-day transaction, it must be controlled, or regulated in a sense that the government can alter its supply at will so as to help the economy stimulate. Fiat accomplishes all of those, though because of the ability of the government to alter its current supply, it's prone to hyperinflation and devaluation more than cryptocurrencies. Personally, I'd like to see people using bitcoins in a global scale even in the tiniest transaction, though that would be highly improbable even in the next decades to come.

It doesn't matters if some guy creates FUD against bitcoin cause no single person or government organization controls it and saying things like Bitcoin wont be Global currency doesn't affects Bitcoin at all. It is going to be a global currency and there is nothing in the world stopping it from becoming one.

bitcoin will not be a global currency, but bitcoin is already widely used as a transaction tool for goods purchases or exchange of goods, only bitcoin has not received legality in the world as a global currency, but for now bitcoin is still a lot of fans for investment, and I'm sure although bitcoin will not be a global currency, bitcoin owners do not feel the loss, because they can still invest.

Still, it's extremely high-minded to think it (or any other crypto) will eventually replace fiat because a huge portion of the world does not have access to computers, smart phones or the internet. It's fun to theorize this may one day happen but the people who do so are genuinely out of touch with the general condition of humanity.

Bitcoin is global, but not really the global currency we had in mind. And it will not become this global currency, it is hardly being used as a currency and certainly not worldwide yet. Although more and more merchants and corporations accept bitcoin lately. Issues like transaction fees and speed should also be fixed first.

The people who are saying that, has no clue what they are talking about. I have send Bitcoin to friends in 15 countries and I have bought products and services with Bitcoin in even more countries. Bitcoin is borderless and you can send it to anyone in the world, even if Bitcoin is banned in their country.

We do not have to ask permission to send bitcoins to someone, we teach them how it works and we send them bitcoins and viola! This is why this technology is so great, it is unstoppable.

Currently on many news sites talk a lot about bitcoin, good news is less but bad news many. we need to calm down, can not listen to such news sites, who does not calm then will lose bitcoin. In addition to business we need to have stance and patience.

Using multiple currencies especially if you travel a lot is really inconvenient. It would be great to see a currency similar to gold which would be accepted in any shop all over the world. It will take years for Bitcoin to achieve it but many people actually want it. The only problem are politicans and banks which want to have a full control of money. Bitcoin can help us solve inflation and introduce deflation to our lives.

May be yes bitcoin will one day become the world universal currency, where bitcoin will be use to pay for goods and services across the globe and also bitcoin being recognized as the digital global currency and that will bring the total freedom to the entire world financial system. Bitcoin is going to carry out that task.
