Learning how to safely escrow with BTC?

Hello Folks, I have been looking into buying / selling with BTC but I can not seem to find a service that looks reliable or trustworthy to use as escrow when trading digital goods. I keep reading that people are doing it with BTC but so far I have only been led to places that leave me feeling uneasy.

Can anyone suggest reputable and trustworthy ways to escrow my btc?  Thanks for the input in advance!

Usually, you gain reputation with the time as you do trades, help the community, etc... Then, when you are a known (and trusted) member of the community, you can decide to start a service like this one. There is no formula to get a reputation.
