Hi @ Halab. I gave it a skip this weekend, since I was away from my laptop (which is quite a blessing sometimes, especially if the weather is sunny and the landscape captivating).

I have downloaded the merit.txt file and integrated it into my DB, but since I like to scrape the profile data just after the release of that file (to be as consistent as possible between profile’s merit counter and the sum of the TXs + derivation of initial rank), I thought that I’d skip it this week and have it all updated next weekend properly.

The easiest way is to push them on to a Google Sheet I think:

-   The first tab delimits the selection to users registered between 9.10.17 - 3.12.17 (3.411 profiles)

You simply hit the “+merit” button next to the quote one.

At the time of your posting (yesterday) you had 11 Merits: 10 from the initial airdropped merits (during Merit System kick-off) and 1 received on the 13/02/2018 from @alyssa85 (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2937576.msg30218526#msg30218526).

You have also sent 1 sMerit on the 21/02/2018 to @oaktree (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2992835.msg30777937#msg30777937)

Basically you had 0 sMerits at the time of your posting yesterday, and were therefore unable to merit anybody (thus the merit button not doing anything):

-   You probably received 1 sMerit during Merit System Kickoff (part of system airdrop goodies) (sMerit Balance=1 -> might even be 0,5, but not sure if halfs were airdropped)
-   On the 13/02/2018 you were merited (1 Merit), generating 0,5 sMerits to award (sMerit Balance=1,5 –> cannot award fractional parts).
-   You spent 1 sMerit on the 21/02/2018 (sMerit Balance=0,5 at most)
-   Yesterday you wanted to award sMerit, but you did not have any (integer) sMerits to give away.

Since then though, you have been merited today by @alyssa85 (+2 Merits -> + 1 sMerit to award). You should therefore currently have 1 sMerit to give away (+ ,perhaps, 0,5 virtual sMerits unspendable until you receive more Merits that generate additional sMerits).

Definitely something is happening here:

• the art contest, with theymos doing Quantitative easing on merits;
• the new merits sources trying to get rid of their new allowances (I have a glimpse of that feeling);
• the old active merit sources with 175% increase in monthly allowances;
• the old demoted merits sources had no impact on merit circulation so were and are irrelevant.

Hi Ddmr², me again .

Is there a problem with this week's data? At least with the merits distributed in the french section ?

I did a search in the TX tab, from 06/12 to 13/12, and it only gives me the merits I sent on 06/12 (+Guigui). However, I sent merits on 10/12, and other french users sent merits this week.
It's OK for the previous week. And I checked on other local sections for this week and everything is fine.
