I'll create one, it will be just giving deposit addresses if you don't mind. Send specially bitcoins, any GG will be throw away by the window on arrival.

After I've enough BTC I'll claim to be hacked and close it down. Sounds OK?

Seriously, I have some developers working on one right now.

I won't trade my GeistGeld at an exchange where you are involved.

I haven't cost you anything LOL

The exploits I pointed out where already there. I gotta hear this, how did I cost you anything?

Whether it was directly or indirectly your problem, you were the catalyst that made this past week crazy in search for the fix, which coinicided with Moonco.in's second dissappearance.  For now, you will be associated with that disaster until we are all restored our faith (value) in alternate cryptocurrencies.

Coinsider yourself proud, you've affected the whoe community.  Just not in a good connotation...

Speaking of Mr. Moon, maybe some fellows from US could check if he was indeed seized - I mean, there must be online court docket or someshit

Mooncoin was a scammer that I called out as a scammer a week before all of this went down.

My exploit has nothing to do with Mooncoin faking a USCIS seizure, hell I probably prevented him from netting 10 times the amount he got!

Then why did he bring the exchange back up at all? hell I was able to get into and sell off 5k in solid coins and from that take out 50btc. I left about 8BTC in there but I thought I could buy back the solidcoins at a much cheaper price but of course I lost that gamble.

AFAIK, what you're looking for would be an official change in the WHOIS.  ICE can only serve a court order to take the domain - you can still connect to that webpage if you know the IP.

If the whois hasn't changed, then ICE hasn't asked them to change it (thus isn't involved).  I think.

I am really sick of all this "hating on exchange operators". If I had the 8 BTC back I would donate it to MrMoon. I was tossing up donating it to him already but if you remember the donation address got taken down because someone accidentaly donated BTC to him when they meant to deposit it. MrMoon was nice enough to refund it to them and change the donation addresses to deposit addresses.

I don't think he did it. If anything I think the person that hacked moonco.in was more likely a bitcoin early adopter or someone known to them. If you read back this thread Mr Moon was getting DDoS'd at one stage. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=40469.40

I also remember from the beginning people were hating on Mr Moon because his fee algorithm wasn't precise and were small errors in either his favor or the traders favor. People got angry about this even though his fee was minuscule a 0.02% and half that of DoubleC's which DoubleC raised because he was losing money running an exchange. Mr Moon then reduced his fee to 0% which meant he was running his exchange at a loss. A lot of people complained about moonco.in's short comings but I bet no one thought about maybe donating something to MrMoon towards say buying a UPS or even co-location.

And today I called up a friend of mine in real life that had lost BTC he had placed on a bet when moonco.in got hacked and he tells me he's going to report it to the Australian Federal Police and he was convinced MrMoon was responsible even though he rarely even goes on these forums and doesn't know the whole story. He's just read shit that other people have written about MrMoon. Shit that I believe is simply not true btw.

Really I don't think the AFP can do anything about this and second if they could it would probably do far more harm to the bitcoin economy than it would good.

So to sum it up 9/11 was an inside job but moonco.in wasn't.

There is probably nothing I or we can do to stop dung being flung at exchange operators like this. The most practicle long term solution is to phase out the client server model of the exchange and replace it with p2p trading such as dark exchange.

No.  Abosolutely not.

I'm sure Moon was a likeable guy.  But a good guy doesn't lie on his whois.  a good guy doesn't lie TWICE on his whois.  A good guy, if he loses hundreds of other peoples money, takes the time say "I'm sorry".

There have been none of these from Moon.

To believe that one hasn't been swindled in this is to invite further swindling.

He wanted to remain anonymous. Hell it was probably in the best interest of the exchange users not to have his physical address on his whois incase his house got robbed and his SATA drives taken.
I think it sets a bad precedent that exchange administrators get treated like this. You would think it would be all profit and glory collecting a small margin on peoples trades but its a hell of a lot of responsibility and a great deal of work and stress and loss of sleep.

People basically crucified him left right and centre from the very beginning and he never deserved any of it.

There also has been a note from him to explain what happened.

If that note is from him, and if he isn't blatantly lieing.

He has access to IRC, reddit, these forums.  Even under another account he could have said "Hey, this is me, this is what happened" immediately after he realized he'd been had.

That didn't happen.  The guy is a crook.

You are jumping to conclusions. You must remember that people are innocent until proven guilty. He is probably just reclusive and introverted. Either that or he has responsibilities in his life outside the bitcoin world.

And if he did post to the forums and say "Sorry I got hacked" he'd still have people roaring "sorry isn't good enough" and trying to bite his head off. People have treated him really horribly from the beginning why would they be any different now?

People are only innocent until proven guilty if I'm a judge/jury in a US courtroom.

He should have thought about 'being reclusive and introverted' before he wanted to start handling other peoples money.

He never appeared introverted when he got heated while talking to BitX for calling him out on his fake whois.

If you want to believe he's a great guy, go for it.  And you may be right.  But with that attitude of not taking your hand off the stove after you've been burned.... we'll, you'll get burned again soon enough.

I'm in an overall positive though thanks to moonco.in. I doubled my btc and easily could have tripled it. It was a great exchange.
