Hi everyone, I wasn't sure where to post this, as I don't see any "contact admin" link, but I haven't logged into my account in a very long time as I mostly just read and don't post alot. I've been trying to login to my account for days now and requesting the "forgot password" link and never receiving anything. I finally now created a new account so I can seek some help, but who can I contact to get my old account back? Someone has stolen my original account and is actively using it!

I can prove that it is my old account if needed.

Who can I contact to help me with this?

Thank you

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.

Message Cyrus(an admin) and send him/her proof that you're actually the owner of the account, by signing a message through the bitcoin wallet address registered on your stolen account.

For more details, follow the instructions in this post: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=497545.0

I don't believe I have ever registered a wallet address on my original account.

What I have is an old post that has my real name is, and my location. I can send proof of ID to get my account back.

There's no way for me to look at the inbox that might've possible had btc addresses in them.

Can you tell us what is the name of that account? If your account is currently on unauthorized used then it must be tagged by a DT member for security purposes. But honestly, we don't know the other side of story.

I doubt you will have your account back without signing a message. That's the strongest proof you will have.

Hope that admins will have a time looking at your case as they are busy. And AFAIK there are some users who still waiting for account recovery even they provide a sign message.

The user name that was stolen from me is DimensionsOfHell.

The user has not deleted my original posts, and hopefully doesn't see this thread and delete them.

I hope I can get it back. I also have emails from a long time ago showing my username from when I received PM's.

Why would you post your real name and location in public though.  Lips sealed

But anyway, on the bright side I guess you could send personal identification proof instead. Just send a PM to Cyrus: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=78147

I never thought that we could still recover our account if in case it got stolen. Thanks for this.

You can. It's just that it's probably going to take a few weeks before you get a reply, due to bitcointalk having so much members and the admins being probably really busy.
