Are there any iOS bitcoin clients available or in the works?

You can't win if you don't play. But you can't play if you lose all your chips. First I found bitcoin (BTC). Then I found something better, Monero (XMR). See GetMonero.org

At least one client was shot down by Apple:

Reasons for Rejection:
22.1: Apps must comply with all legal requirements in any location where they are made available to users. It is the developer's obligation to understand and conform to all local laws
Aug 25, 2011 04:58 PM. From Apple.
22.1

We found that your app contains content related to bitcoins - or facilitates, enables, or encourages an activity - that is not legal in all the locations in which the app is available, which is not in compliance with the App Store Review Guidelines.

We encourage you to review your app concept and evaluate whether you can incorporate different content and features that are in compliance with the Guidelines.

They are just afraid that bitcoins will become illegal and just want to stay away.

https://instawallet.org/ is an easy web based wallet. It doesn't currently have a mobile version, but that's why you have a smartphone.

It would still be nice to have a native iOS client.

One work-around would be for the exchanges to use have 2 versions of their website, one for regular computers and one for mobile devices. Google and Yahoo both have mobile versions which automatically load on an iOS device in the Safari browser. I'd like to see the exchanges do the same. I know Mt Gox has a mobile app but it only works on jail-broken devices. With this work-around the exchanges don't have to get Apple's approval and the mobile version should work on many small screen mobile devices, not just iOS devices.

Sorry, but maybe you should've bought a "free phone", then.

I don't have an iPhone.  I made my statement for other reasons, mainly how to get more people to use bitcoin.

Off-topic: We're making a DialCoin Android app, but even we're not messing with the iTunes store on this one-- just a mobile friendly page that can be saved to the desktop should be enough.

On-topic: The concept of keeping your wallet on your phone is not a new one, and people (even in our group) are working on such solutions-- even stand alone solutions-- but at the end of the day, it's better not to go through iTunes for anything.
