Some thoughts on Topcoin that I've been kicking around lately: - TOP's accelerated maturity changes the game a bit: Not many coins have been distributed as quick...
a) Instead of the coin being mined, dumped, mined, dumped, so on and so forth, as we draw closer to 1-coin blocks, the professional miners will move on and we will be left with supporters of the network providing hashing power for transactions while continuing to mine
b) Strong hands that were aligned with the coin from the beginning are holding good sums of TOP and can coordinate giveaways, spread the word with donations, tips, etc.
c) A nice community has been born quickly, and community-members turned devs are starting to help with tasks and projects because they were able to build a nice stake and want the coin to be successful
- Did you miss the beginning? No worries, low cost at the moment provides second window of opportunity to get in "cheap". TOP is currently selling for 2 to 3 satoshi, and that may not last long as we continue to grow. If you have any questions on how to purchase, please ask!
- Active development team that listens to its community: I haven't seen anyone be completely turned away when they issue comments or suggestions. Yes, we've had some heated conversations and things have gone one way or the other, but in the end, topdude and his team have been kind and explained the reasons why ideas may not be feasible, good for the coin, etc.
- Future plans: This has been a hot topic as of late, so I won't spend much time here other than to recap. We are barely a month old, and we've already made great strides on finding a purpose and ways to use Topcoin.
a) Our purpose, in my eyes... is to help people reach the "TOP" - just like Charlie Linville attempting to climb Mount Everest after being injured in combat, we can help him reach his goal (donation page is still open by the way, total is up to ~8.5 mil TOP). When that campaign is complete, we will search for another person or group in need to support!
b) We have rolled out fun games, a casino, and are currently assisting a merchant on setting up to receive Topcoin as payment for their goods. Once we get one under our belt, we will try to find more and more. We are also working on a TOP SHOP for everyone to have the ability to trade goods for Topcoin.
c) Community-driven development for the coin itself is something I would like to promote and we will do what we can to support requests, wishlists, etc. If you have ideas, please speak out and let them be heard!
- Sharing, branding, and the rest: We will be designing some Topcoin gear soon that you will be able to purchase or win via contests, and wear proudly to support your TOP. Share Topcoin with your friends and family, I just did with my 14 year-old nephew, and he's happily mining on his gaming rig now. Introduce your friends and throw them some coins, let them hit the casino or use them to purchase items, services, etc. from you... seriously, this is how coins build their own "PUMP". When it's organic like we have the opportunity to create, it will sustain much longer than a orchestrated pump.
There, I feel better now  I have been wanting to post those thoughts here and there, and I'm glad I had some time to wrangle them all up in one post. Just weak hands selling into the strong... Remember, nearly all of the coins are out in the wild now so it may take some time for distribution. Chart seems to be building a nice base, we are developing like mad, and we are still attracting new followers/investors. I've heard a number of times that TOP is way undervalued and I would have to agree. There are a number of coins selling for more on the market that serve no purpose and are merely propped up on hollow pumps. A true, solid uptrend can take a little while to consolidate and build on itself, so a lot of people are just giving in. Too bad, we have a lot going on and they will be missing out on all of the fun! Patience is a virtue. |

Yep, I've noticed the same. Like I mentioned in a previous post, the chart is setting up a nice base as it consolidates, and as long as we keep developing the coin and community, we'll rise in a healthy, slow fashion. Those coins that are losing value were most likely pumped and are now declining because there are no whales riding them up. As we build more and more purpose around Topcoin, we'll see the benefits of our work. It will take time, so just keep your patience about you and know that we're dedicated to doing everything we can to gain momentum and keep TOP going strong. |

What makes you say that? Anyone with common sense can look at the exchanges and see there are huge sell walls starting at 3sat working their way up and little to no buy walls. I dumped my TOP yesterday at 2sat while someone was still willing to pay for it. Just look at the volume definitely not a good or smart investment. |

Huge sell walls are there because we have more coins distributed than most at this point. The walls will be chipped away as we release new features, merchants, funding, etc. There are exceptions, of course, but again... most of the buzz around those other coins has been stirred up by pumps. We had a bit of a pump when people were bailing out of MINT, but that's it. If you can find a good example of a coin that is as young as TOP, and has more purpose built around it than we do at this point, please enlighten us. People coming in here saying we're a bad investment because we're not being propped up by whales like a good number of coins out there, really just chaps my ass. We're holding steady and not going to be distracted from building up Topcoin and it's community. At this point, I could really care less about price. I know that the investment is in our efforts, and I can understand that is difficult for some to see. I appreciate your opinions as it is good to see all angles, and it is never a bad thing to receive some good criticism you can work with. |

If you can find a good example of a coin that is as young as TOP, and has more purpose built around it than we do at this point, please enlighten us. Im confused to what the purpose of this coin is exactly. Wasn't it just designed to be instamined in the beginning and now the block rewards are 1 coin? |

Zero pre-mine, fair launch, and he has always said that the coin belongs to the community. He's still here working his tail off for us, and isn't going anywhere. The quick distribution model unexpectedly formed his team, as some of the folks who have been with us all along have been transformed into community leaders and some are helping develop. For example, I fall into both categories, and had no clue that I would end up loving this coin as much as I do now when I started mining. I wasn't even here on day 1... I was a little late to the party. Now, some may complain that they weren't around for the days of big rewards... to which I say, I've felt that way too, about other coins. Did I get butthurt about it? No. I either mined or made my way to another coin. Further, TOP is still very cheap... so there's really nothing stopping people from getting in at the ground level (again). You can become a TOP millionaire for $25-30 bucks. The network will be fine. 30-second blocks with KGW, transactions should always be quick. Just a few computers could run it for eternity. |
