1. Start up topcoin-qt, wait for it to load, then exit.
2. Put topcoin.conf (see sample file above) in your c:/users/**yourcomputername**/appdata/roaming/topcoin
3. Restart topcoin-qt, and you will connect and sync.
4. Launch cgminer or whatever mining program you like and begin mining.
cgminer.exe --scrypt -o localhost:12345 -u user -p pass

TopCoin is a new generation of scrypt coin that is descendant of Litecoin.
Like Litecoin it uses scrypt as a proof of work scheme.

TopCoin uses a faster distribution scheme. Initially it provides 1 million coins per block.
The block payout halves every two days or 5760 blocks.

The minimum payout of each block will be 1 coin.

When reaching the minimum payout, the system will randomly generate bonus blocks:
 - each hour there will be a 10X payout block
 - each day there will be a 100X payout block

Other Specifications:
 - zero-premine
 - 30 seconds block target
 - Difficulty retargets each block
 - Total coins will be 11.52 billion coins
 - 4 confirmations for transaction, thus 2 mins fast transaction time
 - 50 confirmations for minted blocks

 - The default ports are 18381 (Connect) and 18382 (RPC)

Still mining it though, I've seen worse stuff taking off.

It'll be interesting to see this one play out, not sure it'll be a classic pump and dump. After 40 days it'll be down to 1 TOP per block and there will be about 6 billion (half of all available) mined. It will probably be carnage when it first hits the exchanges but a solid steady rise after that as the dumpers distribute the TOPs around. Probably a good hold this one.

6 billion? We'll hit almost 6 billion in 2 days. 30s block time gives you 2880 blocks per day, x2=5760 blocks, x1m = 5,7b.

When it hits the 1coin/block target, there will be somewhere around what, 11000 coins to distribute?
