Hi all!

I'm not sure if I'm meant to do an intro post elsewhere? I've looked at the topics and am left a bit bamboozled to be honest!

I am a complete newbie to cryptocurrency and have just been given a project working with a cryptocurrency client so I’m doing my homework, researching, learning the terminology etc. I’m sure I’ll be asking questions in the coming weeks/months and communicating on various threads. Great to be learning about something completely new and interesting, if not at present, slightly overwhelming!

Any advice on a good starting point for an easy to digest, overall view (video would be good!) is much appreciated. I've taken a look at a glossary guide already - love the term FUDster  Grin

Cheers Smiley

Welcome !

You can start with this doc for example : https://bitcoin.org/en/getting-started

Remember that a bitcoin wallet is just a Private / Public key pair, you don't need an all time connect client on your desktop...

For OP, you can start reading here and read the basics about Bitcoin and thr whole Cryptocurrency. It is a news site about Cryptocurrencies and they included a Beginner's Guide that is easy to understand. You can also find videos in YouTube that talks about Cryptocurrency. There are lots of them, just research. You can also find information in this forum. By using the search tab, you can find what topics/threads that are created that answers the question you have in find. Hope that helps!

What is bitcoin can anyone tell me ?

In my opinion, do your own research first. You can look at the link I've given above to answer your question.

Hi tuppyp and welcome! Nice first post.  Wink

I'm still new around here too, and firstly i'd just invite you to have a look at the rules section at the top of the forum to familiarize yourself with the 'do's and dont's' around here. It'll help you avoid falling into any silly traps or pitfalls. Also its a pretty comprehensive guide of what is expected around here.

Get familiar with this place and have a good look around all threads, there's some brilliant information here, and regardless of how experienced you are in crypto, you'll learn something new here each time you visit. Stay busy and participate in conversations (where you can) and above all- stay positive and don't let the naysayers bring you down to their level.

If you need any help feel free to reach out!  Smiley

I started out on James D'Angelo's videos on the internet and then I moved over to Andreas Antonopoulos. Both of these guys are very good, if you can Google their stuff and watch their videos on Youtube. I also read Andreas's books on my Kindle, if you are really serious about this technology.

Good luck with your journey, down the rabbit hole. It was one of the most interesting things I have ever got involved with in my life. Just wade through all the Fud that are being spread about Bitcoin and you will be fine.

Welcome to our community tuppyp! Where do I start... As a new member of the community, I'd recommend you to read and analyze the rules and regulations in the forum. If you'd want to learn more about cryptocurrency I'd suggest you to research and watch videos about it. I did that when I was clueless what crpytocurrency is. Now that you have a lil bit of knowledge about this stuff, you can now ask some questions out of your curiosity here and we'd be glad to help you out! Just be consistent reading posts/forum and being active here in the community and you'd gain A TON of knowledge in no time. All I can say now is Goodluck and Best Wishes and I hope you enjoy your time being a member of btc. Always put your head up and keep moving forward.
