Is it just me or is ypool not working?

I use the following command to mine, it shows up as "connected" on ypool, but apparently no shares have been coming through for more than a week.
Personally i'd rather start mining by myself if i knew how. Really disliking how ypool doesn't even use HTTPS for its pool and wallet services.

Code:
xptminer -d 0 -o http://mining.ypool.net:8080 -u toom.RIC_1 -p x -t 4

Anyone have the same problem?

Any recent news on this coin? Would like it to succeed. Still is the only cpu only coin right?

Nope, magi coin (XMG) is also cpu only and way better in every prospective.

Also GlobalBoost® $BSTY is going places and possibly a better prospective as well.  We now have a GPU miner but it currently holds little to no advantage over CPU.

no issue for me logging into ypool , have not checked payout's lately though since with the few shares i submit it does not add up to much

I can login to ypool, workers connected and appear to be working, but no new blocks are found, there is probably some process crashed...

Hi

I set up a RIC pool with the help of some ypool users to continue mining until ypool is down.

the webpage is www.xpoolx.com

Wallet is syncing yet but all its almost done. You can register and prepare your miners for when wallet is synced

We use stratum mining and miner is: www.xpoolx.com/xpoolxminer.zip .
Is gatra's version: https://github.com/gatra/fastrie/tree/stratum/xptMiner

If anyone can send me the complete blockchain (about 400mb) we can start mining in a hour more or less

Thanks all!

BLOCKCHAIN COMPLETE AND XPOOLX.COM IS RUNNING FINE!

Any version of this that would compile under Linux/Ubuntu?

The main makefile fails because of a missing include to jansson directory, and the jansson lib itself does not compile (misses some .po files, and then the makefile misses some rule or got broken), thermay be further errors as well.

Payouts are coming from ypool again, and my client synchronized to the blockchain again after being stuck for a while.

Having a second pool would certainly help, but the fastrie/xpoolx miner seems to only be available for Windows right now, and xpoolx would need a lot more miners to find blocks at the current difficulty.

Miner is for linux too!

PREREQUISITES
Ubuntu: sudo apt-get -y install build-essential m4 openssl libssl-dev git libjson0 libjson0-dev libcurl4-openssl-dev wget libjansson-dev

wget http://mirrors.kernel.org/gnu/gmp/gmp-6.0.0a.tar.bz2
tar xjvf gmp-6.0.0a.tar.bz2
cd gmp-6.0.0a
./configure --enable-cxx
make -j4 && sudo make install
cd ..
git clone https://github.com/gatra/fastrie.git
cd fastrie/xptMiner
LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/usr/local/lib
make -j4
Optionally run:
./build_all

./xptminer -m -o xpoolx.com:3333 -u username.worker -p password

Looks like the pool is fixed and its getting valid shares from now!!

I noticed when I checked in later they had yet to hit a block ...

I certainly agree that any cryptocurrency benefits from having as many pools to decentralize mining as possible.

Based on how the difficulty of Riecoin has held up it obviously has a lot of cpu power at it.....

Of course it is possible someone has developed more efficient miners even using a gpu and is not publishing that fact... still I think a gpu design would not increase speed over cpu mining vs. the same order of magnitude as it did for sha 2, other algorithms....

Riecoin is one of the only alt coins I support that I am not involved with development of ....

I always liked it both for the math aspects , reward model, and how it was launched and operated.

Miner is for linux too!

The compilation passes with the above, but then the miner fails with a "Segmentation fault":

Code:
----------------------------
  xptMiner/ric/dga (xptMiner 1.7dga-c16)
author: jh00 (xptminer originally for http://ypool.net) dga (ric core)
----------------------------
Launching miner...  using STRATUM
Using 4 +1 CPU threads

Fee Percentage:  2.00%. To set, use "-d" flag e.g. "-d 2.5" is 2.5% donation

Launching the 5 threads
Connected to server using stratum protocol. DEVELOPER FEES NOT SUPPORTED
session id (null)
extraNonce1 4 80000f8
extraNonce2Len 4
Segmentation fault

Maybe you need to ask to gatra.

he/she have this instructions on the github:

wget http://mirrors.kernel.org/gnu/gmp/gmp-5.1.3.tar.bz2 tar xjvf gmp-5.1.3.tar.bz2 cd gmp-5.1.3 ./configure --enable-cxx make -j4 && sudo make install cd git clone https://github.com/clintar/xptMiner.git cd xptMiner LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/usr/local/lib make -j4 ./xptminer -u username.riecoinworkername -p workerpassword

if you get illegal instruction try this

make clean LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/usr/local/lib make -j4 -f Makefile.mtune

and run it again. If it still gets a segfault, (let me know, please) and try this

make clean LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/usr/local/lib make -j4 -f Makefile.nomarch

This has a default 2% donation that can be set using the -d option (-d 2.5 would be 2.5% donation)

I've compiled it yesterday and it works fine on www.xpoolx.com
