Need to put this on there somewhere: True rights movements will ALWAYS be branded as criminal by existing institutions. It is because they threaten money and power.

Saying that you don't trust someone because of their behavior is completely valid.

Did he launder money? Or did he sell Bitcoins to people who used them for illicit purposes? Not the same thing.

Yes Well I was never a customer of Bitinstant so I have no idea, perhaps you'd like to share your experience? (no doubt you already have done so elsewhere but I haven't read about it)

Shrem has been made a scapegoat IMO and the community should offer any support that they can.
Support for what? He operated a very expensive service. The fees were extremely high and there were always a problem of liquidity going on in his exchange. Now it is clear why his exchange did not provided any "instant" service. He was likely given preferential attention to the money laundering customers rather than provide a fair service to the legit customers. Some forum users reported serious loss due errors in the "instant" service. I have nothing against him, but I also do not see any reason to support him. He got millionaire from his high fees, so why should people even support him? He can pay his own lawyer to defend him in court.

Yeah the dumb Fuck is going to jail over a tiny bit of fees which he could've made much more from legit users.

If yes, please PM me your order info and I'll happily refund or pay the difference. I've spent the past few months going thru our old ticketing system finding unresolved orders and have found a few I'd love to make this right. Thank you -Charlie

Authorities want to be seen to be being tough on any crime involving these newfangled digital currencies. Now a young person is potentially looking at spending a significant amount of time in jail - obviously I don't know the whole story but I get the impression it probably wasn't the worst crime in history - not on the level of, say, laundering billions of dollars for serious organised crime syndicates. Or, I dunno, ordering a drone strike on a wedding convoy in Yemen? Just my opinion though, and I'm just some guy on the internet...

Fun times That's my point, it was good and he had a great business. Idk why he betrayed us for the sr guy. It wasn't about the money. We would have made him more. Possibly ideological. I guess we want to know why. Oh well.
