They don't timewise...none of these were destroyed like that with such a volume over couple of hours.
Seriously, orders with 20-25k of coins when you have 150k coins mined? Not one order, but at least couple of 15k orders and 2-3 25k
When with 5MH/s you could mine maybe 400 RPD a day?

It is first time I saw something like that, and I've taken part in most of the launches since late Nov.

At this supply you shouldn't have seen such huge sell pressure.

65k which Dev forgot to put in the ledger might be an answer but...you can dump at 20 even 10k maybe but under 10? under 8? At 6?
Weird stuff anyway.

I see what your saying, yes that does look different and prob was the reason for the fast price drop. I agree there was shady shit going on, dev or coinmarket owner dumping.

Also seems odd that if your smart enough to be a dev of a coin and bring it to launch, that you would also  have been smart enough not to have started a give away thread when everyone and their mama knew it was forbidden. How could you not know that, maybe dev wanted to get banned??

Well hopefully somebody there can use their head. They could have sold way more coins at way higher prices if they would have not dump blindly...
I assume they will try to rebuild the demand now, somehow, but for that a good story and hype is needed...and no dumping for at least some time.

If you have spare 4BTC , you can put an order for 800k at 500sato. That should be about whole premine + mining available Shocked Grin

This is wild .. lol. Someone should do the % of coins held per address check. To show distribution.

If the dev doesn't come back soon we can takeover the coin and kill his address. That would solve that.
Wouldn't be hard. I have seen it done a few times recently.

So then only the miners and traders like me would have real coins and the pre-mine would be destroyed.
At least the part of the pre-mine that has not been moved or sold.

That would raise the value considerably and restore total faith in the coin.
Either way if this guy is a massive flake then we can get started ASAP. I think
mostly regular people own the coin at this point including me so we own the coin.

How long should we wait? 24 hours? 48?

- Start new thread
- Decide on new dev and small team
- Issue statement of community takeover

Done! I can help.

Just like the coin's name - Rapid Takeover! 48 hours we could be at full steam.

I thought the dev was just banned, and was running this through reddit, not "gone". Am I wrong there?

Yes the dev is active over on reddit. Also he's updating the twitter feed and I imagine the ban is only temporary here.

He got banned for running a giveaway thread shortly after launch

I haven't seen him answer any questions on reddit in 24 hrs. In fact I asked a question regarding implementing Kimoto Gravity well 24 hrs ago and no response.

EDIT: 21 hrs since last tweet.....maybe he's taking the day off? lulz

No one really knows what is going on. I mean there is some room given to the fact coin
launches are always crazy. And add to that the BTC crash madness with GOX.

However -- no word from dev in 24 hours when everyone is saying "WTF".
Reddit has no new posts today that I can see from Dev. Same with forum.
It's weird for sure.

To me it smells like people getting cheap coins from early launch dumps, launch chaos on purpose,
people mining all they can and making it seem like it's dead.

Then in a day or two or three - BOOM - "oh here we are" while sitting on tons
of new coins that they got while mining during all the FUD.

I have seen this over and over. Fear can be a great way to make people go away
for a bit on purpose.

So I guess for now we will sit around for 24-48 hours tops.
But yes community takeover is always possible for any coin.
And yes we can kill the pre-mine addresses.

Anyways.. let's check in tomorrow.

And yes it could just be massive overload stress. I'm not trying to start a revolution.
But ya... people are pissed.

I think this coin can only go up from here. It's like at 20k market cap.
I see the reasons. They are all over this thread.

But there is no way it's not going up. And if the dev is just stressed and took off
for a day - fine.

If he's gone then we take over. It's not hard.

---- >>> DEV ---  -- make a newbie account and say something here. People need a statement.

See you tomorrow!

I guess the difficulty sky rocketed then many miners left, hashrate dropped like 80%. Stuck at this difficulty for half a day.

Difficulty will be dropping a ton in 2 blocks, and its taking forever for the network to get thru those two blocks.

Last time the diff dropped the diff skyrocketed within 20 minutes....lets see if that happens again.

Thats what I've been saying. What is making this so crazy is the listing on an exchange at launch. Could we have made it any easier to dump the premine? Anyway let things settle and give the devs a chance to respond.

I just hope the price starts creeping up. Currently the coins are selling for less than the cost of the power it took to mine them. That has to change, or there will be no miners at all.

Not to be a hater, but what made this coin "special" besides the nice name?  Huh I was amazed at the launch reception on here when:

  • It's premined (although, to their credit, it is apparently being being distributed via promotions with some level of transparency)
  • It doesn't implement Kimoto Gravity Well or anything to guard against pump & dump.
  • No unique block rewards (like lottocoin, etc.)
  • The logo isn't smooth! The general shape is cool, but I would lose graphic design contracts if I submitted images with wild pixels and rough edges!

I guess I just don't understand why some coins get lots of attention while others- with debatably better/more unique features (like prospercoin recently)-don't. Any theories around why this coin got the attention it did?

Your hope is not just a hope. It will grow back to 0.00010000 soon.
I kicked myself for not buying tons of SmartCoins, when it was 0.00004000 and after few days it was grow to 0.00020000. One man bought 40000 SMC at that moment and I think he is happy now. The only thing that initiated this was listing on CoinMarketCap...

Everybody dumped coins at that moment, and there is no room for future downfall because 0.00003000 was a bottom. I told that it will happen, so as I said earlier, I bought in now. Ok, let's grow up to 200.000$ market cap now.
