However if you have a long history of contributing, but don't have sufficient merit to rank up, someone may decide to give you sufficient merit to rank up.

I agree with this approach. I considered giving merit proportional to activity, but I decided not to because doing so would probably give far more undeserved merit than deserved merit in total. But undoubtedly some people got screwed by this, and if they have decent posts, by all means, give them the 250 or 500 merit that they need to rank-up.

I also agree with the idea of (free) "reviewer" topics in general, for finding high-quality posts that went unnoticed. Barcode_ created one in the Chinese section, as well.

You don't really need a high rank here. Its more what you have to say than the rank you are depending on what you're here for of course. If you're here for the right reasons: learn about crypto, spread the word or participate in meaningful discussion then you will likely earn merit and rank up from it.

Did you SEE what OP wrote?  No explanation that any person here could write is going to help.  I didn't even understand the question he asked, but from the words he used in it, it looks vaguely like stuff that's been asked hundreds of times already.  I think he should post it on whatever local board best suits him, because at least there he might have a shot at someone understanding it and posting an answer that'll get through to him.

The best thing for you to do is, find a decent paying job and move your lazy ass from that couch that you've been sitting all day just waiting for free stuff from the forum. Instead of composing such pseudo-English thread like this, you should spend your time to learn English.

The sad truth is that most of the "third worlders" in this forum need all the bounties and signature campaigns to survive since those usually give them more money than their country's minimum wage. And when they don't have the time/opportunity to make an HQ post, they will just spam to get the money to feed their family or earn an extra. But still, I was not 100% serious with my post. I know that there are spammers from every part of the world and that not every "third worlder" is a spammer.

Actually, I'm also from a third world country, so I obviously have no problems with them . But the difference is that I don't need my weekly signature payment to survive. So I don't need to spam.

P.S: I truly never seen someone from a non third world country saying "sir".

There is no exception to the rules of the merit system. You are a part of this forum and you have to abide by the "code" of this forum. If you are going to spend your time shitposting across threads with nothing but utter garbage posts, reading which a healthy person would get retinal detachment or vitreous hemorrhage then dont bother coming to this forum anymore.

The problem is not the people. It is ton of shitposts they eject out from their shitholes which end up getting nursed by the mods. Improve that and this notion might change.

If you really want to benefit from this forum and earn merit it's definitely worthwhile to improve English skills, and learn how to post relevant information only. These skills are very important to have in life, not just in cryptocurrency.

Just using the first post as an example, your title is literally "Its just a question sir!". A title is supposed to tell people what to expect in the post. What does this title tell me? It says to me that this guy is asking a question about something. What is the question about? Who knows. It's really not a good title.

If you want a better title, make it related to what's in the post. Your post is about alternative ways to rank up, without needing merit. Therefore, your title should relate to this, instead of just having a title saying that your post is a question.
A better title would be: "How can I rank up without merit", "How can I improve to get more merit", "Please help me get merit". All of these titles tell people what to expect in your post.

Finally, cut down on the use of "sir". Nobody needs to call people "sir" online, and often it's a sign that the person isn't trustworthy, or at least not great at English. Look through every post on here, have you seen any posts receive merit when they include "sir" several times?

Take your time on learning to improve your communication skills, stop posting meaningless titles and asking if you can ask a question. When you see a post get merit, read it and try to understand why it was given merit.

No there is no chance to convert your good post to merit even after 20 years. What you mean good post? If good for you it dose not mean your post is good. If you make useful post for forum members then it will consider good post. If good for other you will get merit automatically. Some one will give you merit. Try to make some organic useful post in order to get merit. I was also same you. Try to help other and forum.

I think most people just find it annoying in the way that it's used. It's usually always followed with a load of begging or whining by illiterate spammers who overuse it when they are pleading for their account back after being banned for spamming/copy and pasting or whatnot. I get that they're probably just trying to be polite, but it always just comes across as sycophant-ish and fake to me and many others seem to feel the same way.
