The original premine can never be unlocked, we have hard coded this into 2.0. However, the postmine will be used as mentioned in the ANN, the exact figures are still being discussed and we will have a community vote before full implementation.

Thank you for the feedback ZipoZap, we only had a couple hours today to get it finalized. We had no idea the interest in Stonecoin would be this big so fast! However, the ANN will be treated as a living document and we will update it often. Watch for tweets and @everyone mentions of noteworthy changes to the ANN in Discord. Neoscrypt is a GPU mining algorithm, that correct me if I'm wrong does not have an Asic? Bit keep in mind we will be switching to x16r which is the same as Ravencoin, Motion, and a few others.

As you all know Stonecoin was abandoned by the original dev some time ago, we formed a small group back in May and started the repair of the blockchain Mid June. No, the project will not restart. It will continue on just upgraded. The switch is undergoing testing as we speak which has been going very well. We just want to make sure that it gets implemented as seamless as possible to avoid downtime and problems with the exchanges.

As promised we have more details for our upgrade implementation. A fork will occur on the current blockchain Friday, July 13, 2018 12:00:00 PM (GMT) all coins mined after will not be valid. We ask kindly that you shut down your pools and miners and take this time to setup your miners for x16r.

We will have our Friday, July 13, 2018 4:00:00 PM (GMT) we will have our new wallets available for download on our public GitHub. The upgrade will be seamless just backup your wallet.dat and run the new Qt wallet. For masternodes we will have the masternode script updated and ready to run that will automatically replace and setup your nodes to autorun.

A lot of pools were off chain, you can use https://poolexplorer.com/coins#coin_4625 to compare with http://explorer.stonecoin.rocks/api/getblockcount and verify. The official chain ensures you will be mining on the correct one and as of now I can confim BSOD, ahash, arcpool and rushhourmining are all on the correct chain.

However please verify and monitor so you can be sure to not lose coins. The network is gaining stability as the pools and Masternodes clear their data, so soon this will not be a worry.

Unfortunately, it appears some forks have formed on the public network. If you run a pool please resync with your only add node as explorer.stonecoin.rocks. This should fix it for now until we release the update.

The current situation is there are no active developers at the moment which is why I have put out the call for some to join us in this new journey. The current status is that the coin is up and running on a solid (abit older) codebase done by DragonLady who for whatever reasons seems to have decided not to go forward with anything else  . Crex24 has delisted STONE due to some forks that appeared (that have since been resolved somewhat) and no active Dev to address them. I have some visions for the chain which include doing a on chain swap to a different algorithm than x16r with updated code (most likely forked from Dash although this like all things is open to discussion) and getting STONE relisted on a non KYC exchange. We currently have support from the current mining pool operators concerning the mining side of the chain which is nice. By doing a algorithm change and a on chain swap we will be able to address/fix all the unknown questions that have been brought up like who has control of the premine, where are such and such coins at being they do not show in block explorers and such. With the swap we will get a current and accurate snapshot of the chain with all coins accounted for basically shutting out whatever has happened in the past with a clean start to the future of the project.  What needs to happen now is for someone knowledgeable is the area of blockchains and clients that is willing to step up and do the work.

There were no obvious problems, the network was working, there was trading on stock exchanges, why was it necessary to leave the project?
Probably, a couple of people, holders of this coin, are mining.
It's hard to find a developer to restore the project.
