It doesn't surprise me. I guess it's the same thing when we see top profile people promoting ICOs, like John McAfee or other well known individuals. Of course that I understand that a rating site should be impartial and more trustworthy, but if you think about it, when John McAfee gets paid to promote a ICO, he is actually "lying" and has no concern over his reputation, because he knows nothing real bad will happen for him. Rating sites don't really care as well, and they are not entities, so they just say whatever they want. Before I used to rely on ICOBench to check on what ICO to join. There were times that their review influenced my investment decision. I totally agree with you that most ICO rating sites are sponsored. However, I use ICO sites to actually know about new projects and check their sites out. Otherwise, I wouldn't know if not for the ICO rating sites.

It is quite natural that there is a "secondary market" for reviews and ratings and I wouldn't be disappointed if a particular site (say ICObench) clearly stated that a rating can be bought or influenced by money. I only make them as my reference to my research before investing in some ICO. You must not trust 100% of them. must do your own research too.
And don't use only 1 ICO Rating sites, you must critical to check them why some ICO rating sites only give xxx score and why some other ICO rating sites give so high score.

Cause some of ICO website pay them so of course they will make it a higher rating.

So the best opinion is try to do some research too about their product, their Developer, their Feature, Roadmap, Whitepaper, Bounty Manager, and a lot of stuff to check before investing in ICO.

There are many sites that evaluate ico by giving them ratings and giving financial information and duration of Ico.
Icobench one of them, I suggest don't look at the rating of an ICO only through one website assessment, you can compare it from several websites like https://icodrops.com/ and https://icoreview.site/

The most important thing is that you have to do your own assessment by reading the whitepaper, doing a simple team research and roadmap.

Basically their proposal is only a concept and the investors must never try to take it seriously in fact that the history of the developers will give a lot of clues about how competence they are to running the project.

I personally hate using ICOBench to search for ICO projects because indeed the projects they listed are all junk and not worthy of development. Most good projects are not listed here and ICOBench is the only place to make money for an individual organization so do not trust absolutely on this site

I would take a grain of salt in some ICO rating sites like ICObench. Some of them are biased towards the project because they get paid to have a positive reviews. I always do my own research before I could participate in some bounty projects. Don't rely to much in ICO rating sites, use it only as a guide or another source of information.

Actually we may consider the results on any ICO rating sites but the fact that it won't determine the real outcome of the project or it is just speculations made by the majority, we should not rely that much when choosing an ICO to invest or participate with. As an investor, you should make your own assumption because it would be your money to be invested so the decision would still be depending to the investor himself.

I agree, it is better not to trust this site for choosing an Ico to joined. Usually they ask for fees better to do such investigation first before judging any Ico. We have to be observant first this is for our own good to avoid scam.
