There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.

Besides the ones quoted ahead, I recommend:

- A really well-explained video about ranking made by a user in here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3134036.0
- This post from a fellow newbie. This is really well-explained, and he's talking about the best attitude you can have towards the forum in order to be able orf ranking-up, also he's fast ranking-up due to his nice activity and the quality of his posts: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4460023.msg39945637#msg39945637
- Another newbie's insight regarding merits and ranking-up. Again, he's talking about the best attitude towards the forum, and, as you will see, he's gaining merits because he's doing really well: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4495947.0

Be curious, read, learn, ask everything you need to know.

Kindly refer to this post also : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2818350.msg28856522#msg28856522

You need to have merit in order to increase in rank, and the merit system is clearly explained on the above post.

Guys, with the new ranking system implemented in BTT is it to hard now to move forward because of the Merit System. like a Full Member to level up to SR. Member needs 240 Activity and now requires with " 250" merit points. Is there any way for you to earned it without begging for someone? Thanks in advance for your tips.

Well, since begging for merits is against the rules, I’d say that that is a path to rule out, and not a last resort.
I’ve looked briefly through your posting history. The last five pages are all I’ve looked through. What I’ve done here is what many/most people do before giving merits to a given post. That is, if someone considers a post to be meritable, they tend to also look at your posting history. Now a posting history composed in essence by campaign reports is not a track that will favour you at all, since people will see you as a bounty hunter and end of.

From my perspective, Merit and heavy Bounty reporting are confronted enemies who can’t stand each other. You’ll need to see to that and change your mindset in order to have a positive impact on your posts. J.F.K. said that "Conformity is the jailer of freedom and the enemy of growth". What merit requires us to do is break the conformity state of mind in order to grow here.

I think you have also a point, just like what I am right now it is so hard to get merit because as we all know there are some of here are have a high standards of themselves and they don't how to appreciate what low rankings can do and besides we are trying to be deserving given merit, still it's not enough.

One thing you can do is to stop including massive quotes in your replies. I started to look through your recent posts to see what was meritable, but I gave up when all those long quotes obscured your comment.

I got your point DdmrDdmr, But BTT Forum allowed bounty programs and signature campaigns to link your account not a different nor separate bounty account. Im disagreeing on the manner that to have a merit pts you should audit and purposely check the posting history of that person to be creditable. I still believed on the factor of content and relevant of someones posted not just for the purpose of spamming or trolling.

I discussed it with someone on other post that in giving away merits, one should align his/her expectations to the rank of the user in this forum.  Your expectation of posting "quality post" for a Full Member must not be the same with your expectation to a Newbie, because we all know that Newbie can offer lesser than a Full Member.

You can read the topic in meta forum, it may be hard to learn all the thing from one topic so other discussion topics may give you more idea about ranks etc.
