I'm afraid it seems the CryptoRush drama killed whatever momentum this coin had going for it. Looks like we are in for a long wait before this climbs again.

Myself I vote each day on Mintpal and add 20-25 votes. For what I have seen, there are 3-4 persons who do the same.

But in order to make it to Mintpal, it should be much more than that: 20 or so persons. There are a lot of coins with less votes now than STY that progress a lot and will pass in a matter of one week. So at the current rate of vote, STY will stay in that position forever.

Another worrying thing is that the developer is missing in inaction, vanished. In order to change things, that should be the first thing to do: ask him to come back or to pass the control to others.

Im voting the shit out of it  Cheesy
I think at least 5000 vote are from me in the past 1 month or so.

There is also another vote on a smaller exchange: https://coinano.com/vote;jsessionid=PQZjBj3gIJoSz5Pv8UAF+BYj.undefined?cid=240

I still think this coin has potential and more value then most of the rest.

I hope the developers show up or can be found.

Keep it up guys, I'm with you.

Good Luck.

P.S. Did anyone manage to get the wallet running?

There is a previous message of mine in this thread, based on information provided by crackfoo that gives you a conf file good for syncing your wallet

Many thanks crackfoo. This solved my problem with the wallet not syncing

FWIW here my coin.conf file (I also created a duplicate with the name stories.conf):

rpcuser=stories
rpcpassword=stories_secret_password
seednode=54.194.99.126
addnode=54.194.99.126
addnode=193.87.209.46
addnode=54.202.200.68
addnode=128.204.202.5
addnode=185.3.146.223
addnode=88.190.232.140
addnode=83.191.102.60
addnode=188.226.149.9
addnode=62.210.122.161
addnode=95.85.26.168
addnode=67.233.200.130
addnode=88.190.22.60
addnode=111.227.211.187
addnode=75.83.163.162
daemon=1
gen=0

Everything in the same directory than the Stories wallet application

Mine too, have been like this for a week Huh

There was a point when my wallet wouldn't sync anymore, so I removed everything except the wallet.dat and it all came through again.

Here are my conencted peers:

    {
        "addr" : "128.204.202.5:40782",
 .....
Try adding some of them.

Here it is...  Wink

A lot of other coin communities have decided to take development into their own hands after the original devs disappeared. Maybe that should be considered here...

I have analysed the rate of growth of the coins on Mintpal for past week. I get the following:

Grumpycoin   61815   10%   67562
iXcoin   61784   -4%   59331
XXLcoin   54688   6%   57656
Coin2   41664   9%   45174
Stories   36543   2%   37352
PolishCoin   34891   10%   38045
Gridcoin   34742   2%   35487

Rubycoin   14366   2%   14705
Vertcoin   14137   11%   15590
BeeCoin   13634   8%   14616
Particle   13605   2%   13858
Reddcoin   13585   -1%   13511
84 Coin   13153   3%   13535
Coino   12290   4%   12778
GPU Coin   11903   81%   17219
Lottocoin   11850   1%   11935
CrimeaCoin   11769   0%   11782
FckBanks   11395   2%   11620
BeliCoin   11248   10%   12291
Polcoin   9850   #N/A   19700
RealStackCoin   9255   5%   9663
Popular Coin   9210   5%   9626
STLcoin   9174   731%   17244
Cryptographic Anomaly   9081   3%   9364
iCoin   8655   90%   12756
Heisenberg   8128   52%   10909
SiliconValleyCoin   7685   #N/A   15370

The first column is the current count of vote this morning one hour ago, the second the growth rate in the past week and the third the estimated number in two weeks based on the increase in past week.

This means that in two weeks time, Grumpycoin, iXcoin, XXLcoin, Coin2 and PolishCoin will have made it to Mintpal and STY could be first on the list.

There are some coins that will be very close: Gridcoin, 66 Coin, EmperorCoin, MtgoxCoin.

And some with a big growth rate, which means a strong community willing to spend BTC on its coin and that could overcome STY quite fast: NobleCoin, KittehCoin, 365Coin, Einsteinium, PLNcoin, GPU Coin, iCoin, Heisenberg, SiliconValleyCoin.

That means that STY has a real chance to make it, but the window of opportunity is short. We have to push all together: everybody should vote on Mintpal during the next two weeks. Personally I will add each day around 50 votes, or in two weeks around 700. If 10 persons do the same, we could add 7000 votes and have STY very close to the top then!

Cheers

Now that Crypto Rush is... I don't even know what to call it, dead(?) we should push for this coin to get onto one major exchange. Maybe Mintpal or maybe Bittrex - it might actually be worth contacting Bittrex and asking them about it, they are a lot easier to get a coin listed on and it seems to be a pretty decent exchange. Don't get me wrong Mint is good too but it's hard to get a coin listed at Mint without paying them a bribe er I mean voting...

It would be much better to have STY on Bittrex or on C-Cex before Mintpal.

As CryptoRush has crashed, there is no longer a safe place to buy STY in advance of a possible entry into Mintpal. It's very important to have some place where people can buy a coin before entering a big exchange. The week before entering Mintpal can create expectation, which leads to an increase in the price, and that may even put in motion a kind of pump mechanism (which was the case for example for Bitcoinscrypt before entering Mintpal, with an increase of 50 times and then a drop to the previous level afterward).

If STY enters Mintpal with such a low price as it is now, nobody will buy it and it will go the path of Karma, Panda or Rabbit.

So how to promote STY to Bittrex or C-Cex, or even Poloniex? Does anybody know how to do it?

Now that Crypto Rush is... I don't even know what to call it, dead(?) we should push for this coin to get onto one major exchange. Maybe Mintpal or maybe Bittrex - it might actually be worth contacting Bittrex and asking them about it, they are a lot easier to get a coin listed on and it seems to be a pretty decent exchange.
