ETH only for ICOs?

In my opinion, it is much more convenient when there are several methods of payment, and not just some ETH.

it has nothing to do with your preference! it is all about the design of the system.

unfortunately because of the false advertisement that Ethereum had in the past years people don't even know what it is!!!
Ethereum is a platform which is designed to be used for smart contracts. one of the usage of smart contracts is in ICOs. this platform has a token called ETH which is used to make these smart contracts/ICOs, if you use another coin instead of that token you are not using that platform properly!

it would be like putting something else in your car instead of gas. it may still run but that would be wrong!

Since most ICO projects are based on the Ethereum platform, investors should have the ETH crypto currency to buy and use tokens. ICO selects the ETH crypto currency, because by its peculiarities it easily generates tokens using a smart contract.

This is the correct opinion. I think Ethereum is the best choice for ICO. And this also makes its value independent of BTC.

The fact that bitcoin and eth are the two strongest currency so far so if I were the founder of course I'll choose the one that can grow drastically and in return I can have a good profit. Besides I can see more successful ICOs that's based on ethereum platform and can do beyond things.

I can see the benefits of using ETH only but tbh, the more options for people to invest is better. Alot of people hold lesser Altcoins these days and anything that makes investing in an ICO easier will make it easier to reach the hard cap.

At present, many people only use ETH as a speculative tool, then only as the way of ICO.
This is not true, however, because ETH has many USES.

ICO's accepting ETH only are more transparent as we can see the smart contract code behind it.

but ICO's accepting BTC and maybe more types of coins, gives more flexibility to investors to choose their favourite coins.

 will why eth always choose in ico it because thier many issue in investing ico uaing bitcoin for some reason low transaction speed. the fund will not immediately arrive and if you use eth thw fund that you invest will immediately arrive on the ico and the ico will easly send you the token because of your last transaction

now there are so many use eth for ICO because eth network with smart contact is very convenient,it can set every parameter for ICO,you can refund when ICO reach hardcaps,i think with ETH network it is very great for ICO

If I have to choose, I prefer ICOs that use XLM or waves as smart contracts. Because I see both have tremendous potential if more projects use them. But, because ETH already exists before and already used by many projects so maybe many projects also follow to use ETH.

I would prefer both eth and btc for ico's investment . People are more aware about these coins and also these are stable coins compare to others .

eth is mostly used for ICO that uses eth platform with smart contract. but it is also possible that many ICOs accept investors using bitcoin to support the project. so both eth and btc can be used to invest in any ICO project

I don't think it would be fair to accept only ethereum for the ico's as it would create artificial demand for eth.Maybe it is good for whales who hold.large amount of eths.

Specifically, most ICOs currently use smart contracts owned by etherum. With its excellent technology then etherum becomes the choice for many developers an ico. That's fair because etherum has many advantages as well as speed. As we know that etherum has a very large marketcap. In conclusion then if it is for an ico project then I would choose etherum as the main coin and etherum is the best after bitcoin to date.

yeah, almost all ICO converting to ETH because ICO uses ETH network but indeed if listing on the market exchange can be converting to another coin as long as their can supporting.

Eth is not only suitable for ico, but also for transfer and preservation. Eth also has high computational support and relatively high cost valuation.

There are new ICO's coming which are doing their sales on NEO, QTUM etc. However, ethereum will always have the first movers advantage and hence I do not think that any other smart contract platform will see the kind of increase in value as much as ethereum. Other coin to keep an eye imo is tezos.

Venture out from different kinds of projects and you will see their investment methods, most of the ICO that I've encountered so far have the option to invest via fiat it all matters is the direction to deposit, not just ETH and BTC but some famous coins from the top 10 are accepted that would also depend on the ICO itself but that is not the choice alone.

I believe that this is a marketing move in that they accept all the coins, many investors simply do not keep in bitcoin and not in the etherium and in other top coins and these new projects lure investors that they are taking a good kind!
