Is the price of ethereum dependent on bitcoin?

Per what I have noticed on most exchanges, I think price of other altcoins depends on bitcoin. This is so because, when you visit these exchanges, you could see that almost all altcoins have been paired with bitcoin and the behaviour of bitcoin reflect directly on those altcoins. Again, as people invest into bitcoin, they become expose to other altcoins because of the pairings and they begin to invest into altcoins. With this, I think at a point where bitcoin demand is low, it affects altcoins value and vice versa.

Price of bitcoin directly depends on investments of fiat money in crypto economy (crypto market capitalization). More money in crypto economy - higher price of altcoins. Now almost all altcoins (including ETH) repeat movement of bitcoin.

that's the way things are going. altcoin many who adopt about bitcoin and arguing that then other ethereum and altcoin almost always follows the movement of the bitcoin. even the bitcoin also gave a nice impact in the market and certainly if bitcoin crowded then another crypto will also have the same fate and vice versa.

Maybe yes and no, we can't really tell if a coin is really dependent with Bitcoin but because it there will be no altcoins in the market. In my experience, once I get my bounty reward I usually trade it with Bitcoin before encashing it because it's the only cryptocurrency that is supported by our country as well as the Etherium. I trade my altcoins from my bounty to Bitcoin or Etherium because of their potential growth wherein I will be able to maximize my profit margin.

Yes and all alts are depends on the price of bitcoin. That's why whales are playing at this point we might see a lower low price and i'm very positive to buy at that price probably 5000+ or even 4k usd.

I think the whole market is running with the bitcoin position if the bitcoin is down market is down and if it is up market is up so i think ethereum price depends on bitcoin. To most people,  bitcoin is the only major cryptocurrency of value.It's unfortunate but that's the reality.There's this notion that if bitcoin fails,  every other cryptocurrency will fail too.That's the reason why people panic sell when they see the price of bitcoin becoming low.

I suppose so. I've been watching the situation over the year and i think it is possible that ethereum's price is depends on bitcoin's. Because every time bitcoin was down so did the ethereum and vice versa. It's like bitcoin has the power to control the market. But nothing can control bitcoin. That's why bitcoin managed to stay in the first place everytime and have the role for other alt coins.

This is so true, that's true. I noticed that the entire market is dependent on Bitcoin by 90%. Worth it a little swing down or up, as the altcoins pick up his actions in double size.

In my opinion, the price of any altcoin depends on the price of bitcoin (at least during the shocks on the market). You can see for yourself by looking at the graphs of these coins. At the same time, the price adjustment of ETH occurs almost immediately after a significant change in the price of bitcoin.

the price of ethereum still lower than bitcoin price but ethereum has a high percentage than bitcoin so you can make a big profit from the ethereum. but still, ethereum depend on bitcoin for the adjusting and if bitcoin is down, ethereum will follow to get down but I think the down of the ethereum price is not too deep and the ethereum price can survive after the down.

In my own opinion price of other coins depends on bitcoin because anytime price of bitcoin went down, other altcoins prices will go down too, so even eth price also goes down too. but when the bitcoin price rises, other coins and eth will rise too.
