The network tries to produce one block per 10 minutes. It does this by automatically adjusting how difficult it is to produce blocks.

80ish minutes till 60000th block!

So what will happen now when this happens? I am not very techie lol so don't understand very much about the mining part. Does this mean it gets rarer now the coin? Also glad faucet is up that is cool. My friends will be well chuffed. Grin I will do the giveaway I got planned tomorrow so that will coincide with this exciting event then if they are getting rarer. no they aren't getting rarer yet, the halving comes every 100,000blocks
at 60,000 it just starts up with the kimotos gravity well, so for you, it doesn't really affect anything Wink... except to help protect the network from large multipools fucking with the difficulty, which in the long run probably helps the value of the coin

Thank you so much for explaining this to me I really appreciate it. I am learning now from you Guys slowly slowly the technical stuff. So this means we get protected so we don't get a fork shoved up our batties? Grin Grin Grin

FCK future is looking bright, great work everyone.  Special thanks for the p2p subsidies, that is really appreciated and a great way do distribute the premine from the original dev.

more like we don't have an issue like mooncoin or other coins have faced, where their difficulty becomes 'stuck' at something ridiculously high, and then everyone abandons it because noone can solve a block
our difficulty right now is 2.43 (roughly) so that is how high the difficulty is set in order to try and make solving a block at 170mhash take roughly 1 minute (our block time), if say... 17ghash came onto the network all at once our difficulty would skyrocket to around 243 or more, with the old way (and the way some coins have been fucked) is their difficulty would adjust say, every day or every few hours or every few days even, so the difficulty would shoot up to something super high, which would make the multipools (big hashes) leave, so the difficulty would stay high until the diff adjustment would come, causing it to take.. well.. forever basically... the way it is now the difficulty scales every block so it makes it pretty difficult to get 'stuck' at a certain diff.
