Why don't we spend a couple of hundred at 99designs and get submissions from a variety of logo designers? Same as a 50-100 vtc bounty

Agreed. The other ones are cool for techies but a couple of the #6 logos are like an international brand. Too bad we can't vote on them individually. I'm sure they would get more votes.

Yes i agree what is going on here could be done in a more professional manor. But that is ok, nothing has been set in stone yet. There is still time to set things up a little better. I am not familiar with the 99designs website, but that seems like a good idea. I bet as long as we set up a reward we could get some talented people to submit some cool designs regardless. If we were to restart this process what is the best order of procedures? Something as follows maybe? 1. Start thread in forums to collect donations for a few hundred vert for the logo prize 2. Once donations are collected, start thread in 99designs or somewhere else to post the logo ideas 3. When all designs are posted or after a week or so take a vote on the options

Too slow. That would take a month. 1) Someone start a contest today on 99designs 2) In the meantime the person who started the contest puts up their deposit address and we donate to them 3) Designs are submitted on the website and we pick the winner by polling members of the general public (like using mTurk, for example. or even printing out a few of the best ones and asking people on the street) #3 is important, I feel. We are not selling Vertcoin to the people on this website. We are selling the concept to the general public (as part of the long-term goal) and thus need their input from the beginning.

Current logo seems to be fine to me. It's unique.
With branding, "clean and simple" always wins over unique. People are attracted to things they are comfortable with. The more 'unique' something is the less attracted they will be. Let's give them a familiar design, not a very different design.

Alright guys, so right now I have 2 options.
1. Create a contest with a deadline and a reward. 2. Pay a professional designer for the Vertcoin logo.
The developer of VTC has the last word. So we first need to ask him about permission before we do anything. I'll send him a PM.

I like the logo-6 (right side) with check-mark.
Check mark means something is correct and right, so use check-mark as "V" in vertcoin logo is elegant.
I Vote for logo-6 (middle and right side).
P.S: Can you separate those with check-mark from other as something like logo-8 ?!
Agreed. The contest isn't really fair because the #6 logos are all lumped together into one. I think if we can open another contest and seprate the #6 logos individually

The logos in the OP are a joke and ppl that submit stuff should have a minimum of visual communication background. Don't forget that the logo ect has to be scalable and the graphic designer has to be able to adapt the logo to any support and any dimensions at a latter stage. Voting for logos made by ppl that have no clue about graphic design and communication isn't recommended. Voting for logos in general but having no clue about graphic design and communication is smth to avoid too.
99designs is never an option. Mostly very bad designers submitting bad designs getting voted by ppl that have ZERO clue about what is good design/branding.
If you want a professional result, contact a good designstudio, explain your project and give em a few weeks to show you some propositions. Expect to pay a fair salary, noone will make you a professional branding for 500$
If you want to keep it within the community, then put up a fair contest with a bounty and at least a 2 weeks deadline,
As already said, a logo alone is not enough to create a strong ID. Open a contest for a refreshed Vertcoin ID (including colorpalette(green tone), logo, font) Request .eps/.ai/.pdf vector files for all submitted designs and a small txt that defends the project.

Hey chaps! I'm the designer behind the 5th VTC logo I understand there is a lot of turmoil with the changing of the logo. Although I'm thrilled to see it doing so well in the polls. When it comes to a free market like this, everyone is free to use whichever identification they like the most. I've been in the industry a while, and thought the original brand could be spruced up. I'd also like to clear some things up. First of all, there are many different variations here: http://www.reddit.com/r/vertcoin/comments/1x6pys/new_vertcoin_logo/ including this https://i.imgur.com/86nEpZI.png which seemed to have the highest reception. The Vertcoin developer has asked the community to start a poll on which logo should be used, so here we are. The logos in the OP are a joke and ppl that submit stuff should have a minimum of visual communication background. Don't forget that the logo ect has to be scalable and the graphic designer has to be able to adapt the logo to any support and any dimensions at a latter stage.
I exclusively work in vector, so atleast logo 5 can be scaled to whatever dimension you like. It also comes with multiple sizes and styles to fit different areas and backgrounds uniquely. Let me know if anyone has any questions!
