one of the mayor drawback of Bitcoin is the long waiting for confirmation.

I wonder why no the system just, lets say, to increase confirmation speed by 4, target*4 for 24 blocks/hour, reduce the block reward by 4, 50/4=12.5, and increase the number of blocks for reducing the reward *4.

That will also help to promote solo mining a bit more.
