I think this is a good news that Facebook has lifted it's ban against cryptocurrency ads. However, ads about ICOs and MLM related cryptos are still banned. But I think this is a good start. What do you think about this? Will this affect the price of bitcoin and cryptocurrencies in general? Is this a preview of an upcoming bullrun?

Here are some sources:

The price of bitcoin is certainly not affected, but the demand and interest of investors to the ICO is exactly produced interest. I think for facebook it's only for the best, it's the only social platform that offers paid advertising. Since Twitter, YouTube and Google refused to advertise ICO companies.

Personally I was tired of seeing Roger Ver's face on every advertisement space out there promoting the latest ICO thing. A global ban was overkill tho, it's never the way to go. We can't obviously let scammers advertising their scams all over the place because it takes this space away from legit projects, so we need some regulation on what ads are shown, which isn't a global ban.

The problem is: who gets to decide what is and isn't an ICO-scam? What guarantees this regulator cannot be bribed to list things on the ads? It should be a decently sized group deciding on that to mitigate said risk.

The good news is that it says that Facebook understands the importance of the crypto-currency market. After all, advertising is, first of all, a huge market, with good money, it would be strange if Facebook would refuse such a pie. In general, I think the very idea of banning advertising crypto, not possible.

As far as I know, Facebook says that promoting the ICO on facebook will harm the user. ICO scam projects will take advantage of advertising on Facebook for phishing purposes

Well yeah this could probably happen especially if a certain country has already accepted and embracing cryptocurrency. Ban on crypto ads will depend on each country regarding on if the system is being rejected or accepted. Facebook is not that dumb to let the people see the crypto ads where a certain country has ban crypto ads. It will just cause facebook to get lawsuit on why they are not removing crypto ads on a certain country which ban cryptocurrency.

It is a welcome development, I think they are beginning to see the good side of cryptocurrencies and that some projects are actually very good for society.Maybe they knew all along but were being forced to place a ban on crypto behind the scenes. You never can trust world government s

I guess a lot of investors pervceived that ban as Facebook neglecting the whole crypto sphere which resulted in that 5% dip of Facebook share price. I still hope that Telegram will be the first to fully integrate crypto into their messenger.

I don't see any changes, people were allowed talking about cryptocurrency on Facebook and it was prohibited talking about ICO or asking people to invest so I don't see anything change

It's probably for the best that ICO ads are still banned, because I saw a lot of scam ads on facebook and adwords about fake ico's where newbies easily fell for it.
