This is just great,  maybe Mark Zuckerberg thought that cryptocurrencies are something good and useful and decided to allow the cryptocurrencies advertisement again!

Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

Advertisers still need to be pre-approved in order to promote their product or platform to Facebook, ICO restrictions are fine I remember last year from Facebook ads without these restrictions unknown ICO ads are promoting out of nowhere I don't even know those projects until I found those on Facebook and google unluckily some of them turns out to be scam.

This is not to lift the ban, but ico needs to be reviewed, which means that Facebook does not object to cryptocurrency and ico. They are just worried that their users are deceived by scam ico.

Even they did not lift the banning of cryptocurrency and advertisement on their site!
you know why? people are eager to have cryptocurrency they keep posting to help many ICO and this is what they can't stop.
Yes they announced it but not enough for the community to stop.

I think this is a good news that Facebook has lifted it's ban against cryptocurrency ads. However, ads about ICOs and MLM related cryptos are still banned. But I think this is a good start. What do you think about this? Will this affect the price of bitcoin and cryptocurrencies in general? Is this a preview of an upcoming bullrun?

Here are some sources:

https://www.cnbc.com/video/2018/06/26/facebook-reverses-ban-on-cryptocurrency-ads.html

https://cointelegraph.com/news/facebook-s-crypto-ad-ban-reversal-power-play-gets-their-own-news-stuck

https://www.recode.net/2018/6/26/17505876/facebook-cryptocurrency-ads-bitcoin-ico-ban-reversed

This is a very great news to the bitcoin and cryptocurrencies community. It is a very good encouragement to those that are scared of investing in bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. It will help tell them that bitcoin is not bad after all.
The news will also affect the price of bitcoin as more people will accept bitcoin and this will increase the marketcap which will ultimately increase the price of bitcoin.

If the reverse will take effect soon i am pretty sure that this will help a lot in uplifting the price of bitcoin in the market.

Barely any effect on the price, let alone a start to a bull run. However, it is the right move for Facebook to make from the start: they shouldn't ban crypto outright like they did last time. I have to agree with ICO ads banning though. I think ICOs are just too risky for everyday people in Facebook. These people might not really know what ICO really is, how risky they are, and just correlating them with the fancy cryptocurrency hype.

I wonder what prompted Facebook to revoke their ban, does it have to do with their ads revenue from crypto service?

This is really big news for everyone in crypto world, facebook realized that cryptocurrency is good, they should only ban those advertisements that are scam, like fake ICO. Because those ICO will lead the people getting scam, specially there are many using facebook now.

Does facebook have the time to check the authenticity of an ICO? Something can appear to be all authentic in the start but then still be able to run away at the end. A lot of ICOs here are like that. They are paying at the start and then later on the "buyers/investors" are actually just themselves and are going to dump the coin once it goes to the exchange. I'm pretty sure if there's a surefire way to validate the authenticity of an ICO, this forum will be the first one to find out about that and one of the first one to implement it. So much fake ICOs are making the reputation of crpytocurrency bad. On the other hand, people can always use fake names/fake accounts and remain anonymous to the world. This is the Internet, people can stay anonymous.

I believe they dont have to ban the crypto currency. The solution is there must be a regulation in ICO. There must be a KYC. It will clean up the scams. Google and Faceboook, must hire scam detecting , philsting detecting people.

That means they should be able to hire someone who sees everything. Because there's no way they can filter out the legits from the non-legits unless they see everything. And even then, the plans of an ICO team to bail out/become a scam the moment they have finished their ICO can be discussed all offline.

the price til today still stuck but this is good news indeed and i think eventually facebook will lifted ban ICO ads too because with development of ICO then this is good opportunities to get more users because facebook usually used to promote cryptocurrencies and facebook also will get more money from those kind of ads

That's a good news which would even make more publicity on crypto currencies and ico as well which would bring in more retail and big investors. From investor point of view, they get to access and review the coin as well. So for me I m happy for this news and would help me in choosing good icos and also take some good returns from them. I would still focus on major coins and make some strong portfolios by trading.

I think this will very positively affect the crypto industry and more and more people will get to know about the newly coming cryptos and also invest in it. I think crypto has got huge potential and profits in it an people will know the potential of it due to the lift up of the ban on crypto marketing on facebook again. This will also affect the price of BTC and other alts.

This is the Internet, people can stay anonymous.

The ironic thing here is the Facebook company operation relies on people not making themselves anonymous but basically freely giving their personal data to be marketed to by advertising across the site or just sold afaik.    So crypto or at least the anonymous part of it is contrary to that targeted data business mindset they use, Facebook really isnt free.   They did try to ban accounts without verifiable user data at one point, not sure if they are still doing this.

I am glad to learn this but even if they had upheld the ban i don't think it will make any difference on our fortunes with bitcoin since many facebook users are not crypto enthusiast and we don;'t need them to succeed since we have bitcointalk which is a bigger and better platform.

You are right ,it is really great news for us but i don't think it can any effect in price because the price is still not growing.
It might not affect the price for now but am sure it will have more effect in the price in future because facebook can make Crypto currency to reach more people because they have large use base...
