for now Bitcoin is arguably a king because it is the first coin with a superior quality to dominate the market and Ethereums is developing with the most popular platform of the ICO project. if in the future there will be a new coin that is superior in my opinion it takes a long time, it can not even compete with the most powerful Bitcoin.

I think that for a few more years will continue to be BTC, now what I doubt is that ETH maintains its position next year, as we could see this year, has very good coins on his heels, such as Ripple, VenQ and EOS, so nothing takes away that in a couple of years another king of the alts rise to take the throne, of course, that takes into account that eth does not progress enough or lower the price too much.

Bitcoin is indeed difficult to be pursued by other coins for now, and I also began to doubt that ETH will continue to be the top in Altcoin because there are many potentially very good coins. and although many say that ETH can beat Bitcoin but before that ETH had to maintain its position before thinking about becoming a king.

There will be no new king as BTC will remain at the top.
Not just a king, Bitcoin is the father of cryptocurrency.
Noone now can make BTC lower its rank. Even ETH will stay behind for a long time.

To be honest DOGE, LTC, ETH its a king for my opinion, because this currency used to be a pair of Altcoins. thats why i called this currency kings. None one of crypto can beat Bitcoin. Bitcoin always be a king

Bitcoin was created as a way for the people to take control of their money from the governments and banks so that individuals can FINALLY, after 10,000 years of evolution, We The People can truly be in charge of our own money, our own destiny.

So, again, NOTHING will replace that first step, BITCOIN is here to stay. Other coins will come, and some will go; others may even surpass the popularity and value of BTC; but none will take its place.

Bitcoin may never be replaced.

If it does, it will be by another cryptocurrency that addresses a problematic aspect of Bitcoin, for example its 21 million coin limit. If this creates problems in the future, then Bitcoin "gold" might become replaced by Litecoin "silver" with a limit of 84 million coins.

Bitcoin will be replaced one day some day by something that captures the hearts and minds of the global populace. Bitcoin has had 8 years to build up its momentum and has become a global phenomenon. I imagine it will take some time for something else to take its place.

Bitcoin is one of the oldest payment selections, there were others built before Bitcoin was.

For me, Bitcoin is and will remain the king of cryptocurrency. He was the first and many people believed and accepted him. Now there are a lot of new coins, they know little and do not believe.

Bitcoin is not tired of being the king but a time is coming when the technology behind Bitcoin blockchain will be obsolete unless it can be upgraded to meet enterprise needs. Any altcoins that will take the kingship from Bitcoin must be an enterprise applicable blockchain protocol which take the platform out of speculative mode of most Cryptocurrency without real life applications.

Now the mainstream currency, BTC-ETH, has the upper hand, and they have the strength and technology, but the future is likely to be a new project to replace them more mature and more comprehensive. What do you think it would be?
I think no one can take the throne from BTC, BTC is always be the king in cryptocurrency and ETH will be the king for ICOS. Even though another alts like XRP and XLM has very good concept it still can't take the throne from bitcoin.

Nobody knows for sure which one will it be. But I also think so, there is a space for a new strong alt.

New bull run will start with the rise of new project.

Who will it be?? May be Neo or Troy or CAT(Bitclave) may some very new one. But definetly market needs a boost. We are waiting for good news.

My personal idea not till mid of 2019 we ll see a bullrun.

Bitcoin will stay on top! I think Ripple has a high chance to get to the 2nd place, they had a great Q2 and Q3 (their sales went up twice).

Bitcoin comes first because they trust it and keep all their money in it. As long as this continues, it will remain in the first place.

Of course there will come a time when there will be a project that will be able to shift the leaders and take their place. But yet in sight for such a project. I believe that the most important factor will be the ability to pay with coins of this project in any store and the availability of your own payment card.

A bull run will cause an outburst within the newer markets because they have little volume inside of them.

I doubt that when any project can replace bitcoin, bitcoin remains the only currency that can not be influenced ! not to mention Ethereum!

I'm sure we can't predict it because if a person could come up with such great project now they would already embody it, am I wrong?
