It does happen sometimes. I think it might be due to some massive activity going on somewhere in the cryptospace. Last year, cryptokitties clogger the ETH network for a long time. ETH network serves a lot of coins and so it does happen, but anyways it's still a flaw and they need to find a solution to that somehow

Standard fee for fast confirmation in ETH is around 50 cents which is way higher than what it will cost to transfer bitcoin and bitcoincash right now.

One of my transaction got stucked for atleast 13 hours before getting processed because I have only used half of the recommended to save on fees yesterday.

ETH have this known network congestion problem from the start and vitalik haven't proposed any successful solution for this till now.

This is the inevitable end for all crypto currencies with blockchains.

There isn't a solution to worldwide scaling other than layer2 techs (like LN on BTC). Now It's eth's turn to understand that. When worldwide adoption gets wider, other shitcoins will too understand it. (They can get away with empty blocks and low fees now since nobody really using their blockchains.)

I have a quite sufficient part of ETH in my investing portfolio and I hope that the current situation with ETH will be boosted significantly in the better way I hope.  When buying ETH I believed that ETH would be 2000-2500$ quite soon. Unfortunatelly in the current time the crypto market is in stagnation. Anyway I am not ready to sell ETH because I still believe in ETH.

I’m not sure why people complain about ethereum fees, even if it goes up 10,000% it is still cheap compared to the amount charged by other exchanges

No matter how high the Gwei is, your total sending fees is less than 2$
Now tell me that exchange that charges 2$

I think you are definitely right some people just like to create panic buttons and make things seem worst than they actually are i think holding ETH is a good thing if cryptokitties didn't do much damage airdrop can domuch

The fees are truly unbelievable. I saw the chart and there were big (for eth) fees in January 2018, but the 2nd of July's fees beat that record with an average price of more than 5 dollars. The current fees, even though still very high, are about 3 dollars. We are now experiencing a pretty unique situation of btc's fees being a lot lower than eth's (btc's fees are about 4 times lower than those of eth today). The prices are still very bad, so I hope people will calm down and the fees will eventually go back to normal.

I think this is something to be fixed by ethereum network. Their charging us too high but their transaction is too low which is a hassle for us. The charge is too high which is a burden for us traders. The transaction charge that strikes too high is getting worse and developers should do something about it.

Crypto currency is easy to use and transfer, it has safety and the cost or fees of crypto currency are very low. Such things have made the crypto currency popular. i think you bought a lot of cardano. and you bought when the price was very high. i guess december or january. and now you want to push the course. that's a good idea. good luck.    buy low and sell high. this is crypto 2018 !  guys...don't panic. eth will grow to over $1,000.

This is one of the weaknesses of Ethereum, a kitties game and an exchange with an extravagant idea are enough to congest the network causing problems that affect not only the fees but also the ICOs operation. I guess this will be something good for their competitors since many ICOs will consider using other platforms in the future.

ya, ethereum dev must solve this issue, current ethereum platform can't handle a lot of transaction in same time, more than 50 gwei per transaction right now, their competitors will replace ethereum become top 2 cryptocurrency in the future if ethereum don't solve the problem

Fees are often high charges posted on the wall, but lets not focus on the said fees, it is just normal to have charges or fees, for as long as we are earning, market will correct itself... lets wait if any other fees, will go up..?
