The vertcoin miner doesn't display temperatures correctly, so you need to increase your fanspeed to at least 20% to make up for the error, otherwise your cards will burn out in 72 hours. I.e. if the miner is showing 70c, the temp is actually 90c. If you can, run your fan at 90-100% to stay safe.

I mined vertcoin for the first week of release and I faced the consequences because the vertcoin miner is unreliable.    At least I've learnt my lesson.

Bullshit, GpuZ and vertminer show the exact same temperature, i've been mining vertcoin for like a month and no trouble. You will have system stability if you don't have correct settings (vertminer uses completely different settings from cgminer, this includes thread concurrency, gpu clocks etc)
