If that is all the money you can afford and that is all the money that you are going to be able to invest for some time then I think it is better that you take your time and save more money before investing, even at the current prices 500 dollars is not a lot of money, it was a few years ago when you could buy a bitcoin for a few hundred dollars and ethereum was much cheaper, so save more money and use that time to research the market and find out what strategy you want to employ in this market.

I think invest 40% in BTC, 30% in Etherium, 20% in top 20 potential coins, and last 10% in small cap coins in top 200.

Personally, I advise you to invest the money in the RIPPLE, XLM, CARDANO. These coins increased the price in the 5-7 time in these few past months. I think its price will be big in the future.

It is probably an easy one to figure out at the moment you can pick any of the top ten or twenty coins from the Coinmarketcap top list and invest in 1 or 2 of them. As soon as the market turns again you stand a great chance of increasing your stake by 50% - 100%, if this is your first time to invest I think a lot of people would wish they were in your position.

Just be careful and research deeper, though we knew that those who are in the top 20 coins can easily move when the market bounce back, but better to investigate more and make a clear plans just in case that the market didn't increase right away and more downfall showed up, make some extra strategies and always be ready if in anyhow new sway comes up take advantage.
