In the past week the Safex development company Balkaneum has launched the Safex blockchain testnet.

so what is this airdrop?
in about 30 days safex will migrate from the current btc blockchain onto the new Safex blockchain
you will have to send your safex tokens from the btc blockchain to the new safex wallet on the safex blockchain, that will convirt your tokens
and that will also airdrop safex cash into your wallet.
So your safex tokens will convirt 1:1, + you will get airdropped 0.0023 safex cash for every safex token you own.(230 safex cash per 100.000 safex tokens)

So if this got your attention then the next question is inevitable, where can i buy safex tokens? why is safex not on more exchanges?
Right now you can buy safex tokens on tradesatoshi.com, its a small less known exchange. but to be fair there has been no problems with TS so far, besides going into maintenance mode a bit often. You could also buy safex tokens from the website, but that comes with a higher price.

Safex has come a long way…

The last official update from me came in February. During that time we had just begun the expansion of the company called Balkaneum. Since then we have become a team of more than 20 professionals in Software Development, Management, and Marketing. Since April we started to work on the Safex Blockchain with a dedicated team and by now are 4 members exclusively focused on the Blockchain Core libraries. More developers will join us as we begin to implement the Marketplace code.

I was once a Safex believer when it was listed on Bittrex, and sold it after almost half year ago and didn't follow on the development
This project did actually take a long time to move but i remember dev giving updates regularly

Greatings Dear Community,

Our development team is continuing with the tasks essential for the launch of the Main Net. Most recently a block explorer has been successfully established. Additionally, a number of system updates have been made and published to the public repository, among some others that will find their way in the next two weeks.

Release Schedule
The schedule for release of the Safex Blockchain Main Net will take place some time in this month. We will use the entire time until the last day as part of launch. Test Net was launched arbitrarily in the month of July when we were certain that it would work. Furthermore…

Public Code Audit
Next week we will be deploying a public code review where developers from the open source community will be able to earn a bounty for reviewing the functions that were developed by the Safex Team. This will ensure any potential bugs are identified ahead of deployment, and a general assurance that we got it done right.

Marketplace Development
Last week sparked the start of the marketplace architecture. Due to the onboarding of a new team member we’ve diligently begun consideration and specification of the marketplace. While other developers in parallel are completing the remaining necessary task list for the Main Net launch, we are preparing for the future. Expect more news from this front promptly post the Main Net launch.

Upcoming Wallet Update
The Safex Wallet is undergoing an overhaul to accommodate the migration system from the BTC blockchain to the Safex Blockchain. This will go released alongside the Main Net launch late in the month of August.

First and foremost the migration of the safex token from the old btc blockchain to the new SAFEX blockchain will start on sept 28th!
this will include a new wallet that has the migration functionality! (As a reminder, no exchanges will perform the migration on your behalf. If you’re holding Safe Exchange coins on an exchange, please ensure you have withdrawn your Safe Exchange Coins into your own private wallet )

It’s been a busy few weeks for Safex and a lot has happened since our last update. Instead of writing multiple articles on each topic, we’ve summarised the highlights.

Safex Wallet v7 released – Blockchain Migration Edition

This must have been the most anticipated Safex Wallet. Released late last week, the v7 Safex Wallet includes all the necessary function to convert your old Safe Exchange Coins over to the new Safex Blockchain.

Version 8 of the Safex Wallet will be released in a few weeks time which includes additional functions.

Safex Cash 1 Click CPU Miner released

The simple design of the 1 Click CPU Miner allows even computer novices to participate in mining Safex Cash. Simply install, add your Safex Cash address (if you don’t have one, one can be created for you), select your pool, and start mining!

Safex Cash / Bitcoin listing expected soon on CoinDeal

Several weeks ago, it was announced that Safex Cash won a listing on the European exchange CoinDeal. It was estimated that it would take 4 weeks to integrate Safex Cash onto the exchange.

This was around 3 weeks ago, which means we should expect to hear the listing announcement very soon. Keep your eyes peeled for this one.

If you’ve not already registered, make sure you do now as it will require you to go through the KYC process before you can trade. Also note that unfortunately the exchange is not open to US citizens at this stage.

Safex Blockchain to fork over to CryptoNight v8 algorithm

This is scheduled to change on block 61660 (est ~26/11/2018). All miners should update to the latest version of their mining software (1 click miner will be updated accordingly), and pool operators will need to update their pools to support v8.

Further details will be released on this next week.

Daniel Dabek to speak at OMGcommerce Beograd 2018

Not only is Daniel speaking at the OMGcommerce conference in Belgrade, Safex are also sponsoring the event!

The conference, which focuses on digital commerce, is on the 22nd of November at the Naučno-tehnološki park.

Daniel’s speaking subject will be: Getting cosy with crypto-commerce – the future of digital trade. This is an excellent opportunity for established ecommerce brands in Belgrade to consider the upcoming Safex marketplace platform as another revenue stream for their brand.

Plans for Safex Marketplace before Black Friday

Earlier today on Discord, Daniel mentioned some of the plans in place for launching a marketplace system for Black Friday.

Part of this will include a web software kit, which you can use to make your own Safex Shop. Exact details are yet to be discussed publicly but this looks like it is in line for the Black Friday holiday.

Safex will host the first marketplace as an example and then will release the software for others to create their own service.

We’ll expand on this as soon as more details have been published.

Safex ATM development progresses

Developing is coming along well for the Safex ATMs. The latest news is that structural engineers are currently working on the external hardware/cabinet of the ATM machine.

Further details will be published in the next few weeks including a teaser image and/or video.
