I get 0 hashespersec after running a fully synced chain for 30 mins with 100% cpu. Once in a while my console outputs something like:

hash: abcdef00000 < bcdef00000

I assume it's found a block, but nothing's happening so I stopped mining.

Bitcoin mining is now a specialized and very risky industry, just like gold mining. Amateur miners are unlikely to make much money, and may even lose money. Bitcoin is much more than just mining, though!

I don't think it's been officially launched yet - I believe the code on github is a pre-launch version and the dev is still working on the final release...

Also see this post...

https://bitsharestalk.org/index.php?topic=2924.30

Would be nice to hear form the dev?

Hi Dev...

Can you confirm that this is the genesis block details we should see when launching for the first time?

I've just compiled this from the git source above...

2 thresd = ~1.75 GB
3 threads = ~ 2.5 GB
4 threads = ~ 3.25 GB

care to share the compiled windows version?

are you synced properly? if so then you are generating orphans, keep at it, you'll hit a few blocks soon.

+1

Please do. I'll be happy to test it on my machine.

Have to be honest though, kind of disappointed with the launch. It's a really nice coin, but I'm afraid I've already missed the window on it.

your binary... was it compiled in a 32bit environ?

it seems to be having issues with starting threads.

as a temporary work around for windows users, use a VM to mine, we are barely above ~1k blocks and the difficulty is still very low.
