Very Unusual Computer Problem, 0.0075 BTC Bounty

I end up installing http://ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp74501-75000/sp74543.exe to find out that after a reboot, the mouse and keyboard, including
all usb ports no longer function upon a windows load. However bios gui interface and pre, they work fine. Not the motherboard, but this somehow messed with the drivers within windows.

I need someone to investigate the changes sp74543.exe does to windows/drivers, and if its possible through cmd/outside of windows, to manually delete
the file/driver.

Anyone that can suggest a working solution gets 0.0075 BTC

Provided it doesn't involve reinstalling windows, etc.

As a temporary solution you can try rolling back the driver in the device manager. I will try to investigate it more closely this evening. Image below is an example of how it should look like.



Note that it has a chance to work only if you can find that device on the list.

Before doing that run Windows in the safe mode!

you can try to launch windows in safe mode (3 times not initiating correctly by forcing reboot upon loading starts) and go to the fix installation/windows (I'm not sure about the name at the moment)

Yes tried safe mode earlier, and none of the usb ports worked.

Restart to safe mode can help to unistall driver properly from device manager.
In sp74543.exe files there are too many .ini files

No PS2 ports for mouse/keyboard?  

Try booting to the bios to see if you can find settings that may have been changed by the driver.  You can also try flashing the bios with the latest updates, it would be interesting to see if the bios recognizes your USB ports.

try fixing the launch. you can TAB throught the options, so no usb port needed.

Another thing tried earlier was system restore it lists the driver that was installed, of course when trying to go to an earlier check point: 0x8007003 error, nothing changed.
Isn't it possible through cmd to manually delete the files/drivers? How would you do this, and what do I need to delete?

That would be very difficult and require advanced knowledge of the system.  The drivers likely wrote or changed some registry keys, and with out doing extensive research it's impossible to know which ones were affected.  So, what you are suggesting is not impossible, but would require so much time...  I'd sooner reinstall windows than have to deal with all that shizzle.

Just out of curiosity, can you boot to a USB stick?

Anyways one usb on the back of the motherboard, out of like 12, an red odd one, worked. Maybe because it was a different version, etc, luckily this wasn't hit.
Should be fine now.
