There was a big boost in price. For those that do not follow this coin the developers do not really post here very often so do not think they are missing. It is something we investors have just learnt how to accept. They do have some big things in the works with businesses in Vegas. It will not be for gambling but for other services you find in Vegas. If you want these coins cheap you might want to buy soon. There are very few sell orders so this coin will most likely keep going up.

There was no boost, there's barely any volume atm. Just one guy buying up some coins, that's all VGC needs right now to "boost" the price. I think this will go on for some time... As long as there's no real news, there'll be no real trading.

My guess is they're aiming to get on a bigger exchange together with the release of planned updates/releases.

VGC is currently listed nr 7 on Cryptsy...  

I've also noticed the network hashrate exploded a few days ago, just because of some speculation... Back to 'normal' now, but imagine what real news would do.  

For those wondering, I know they plan to release:
- Android wallet (will automatically lead to previously mentioned businesses accepting VGC)
- Direct buy option (no bitcoin or exchanges needed)
- Wallet client update (don't know any details about this)
- I've also read on fb about a new website with a completely new service in crypto (which will take "VGC under it's wing")
- ... Other than that they've been keeping it very 'hush hush'

That's not the whole story. From what I can see they are trying to build something new and got rid of all the bad apples several months ago, completely re-branded and are now in closed beta. 
Then again it's not up to me to say what stays and what goes.

Then again it's not up to me to say what stays and what goes. 

This is a true statement. I was apart of the rebuilding I have not paid attention now for a month or 2 because it has been all back end stuff.

I'm new to VegasCoin...wow you are sitting on a gold mine here. The name is perfect and if marketed aggressively enough for full adoption in Vegas well then Vegas Baby!

If you can get the big boy casinos on board then its moon and beyond permanently. It seems with the deep pockets in Vegas, why wouldn't they give this a shot?

VegasCoin will hit $100 a pop if the large casinos adopt. High rollers = high dollars.

Keep on knocking on doors and get the "big deal" and I will keep mining

version running 2.0.1.1

moved coins from pool to wallet. Coins hit wallet but will not confirm

Tried running -repair wallet as well as deleted \roam\vegas and resynced wallet. Nothing changed. Wallet is synced but coins still show unconfirmed.

Long time supporter here   Nice read, with the exact long term vision I've been seeing since the start of VGC!

The problem with the current crypto community is that it's full of people trying to find a 'get rich quick coin' and want/expect it to happen overnight. They don't care about long term, or the coin itself... And that's a problem. VGC IS long term.  
Nobody seems to remember that BTC took YEARS to get where it's at right now and it's still FAR FROM mainstream or anything like it.

In my opinion VGC is the only coin I've stumbled upon that has a different future planned other than just providing another form of "decentralized, anonymous, fast, safe,... blabla" form of payment. In other words, they're not trying to compete with BTC like most coins, they're only trying to co-exist. And with the right connections and timing, I believe they will def succeed!

Funny how when nothing is happening people come and troll the threads, posting all kind of negativity. Now that the Android wallet is actually there, more is soon to follow... And yet the threads are quiet and the trading is average but stable. It seems like rumors, leaks and assumptions cause more 'disturbance' than actual news. Weird that is  

Anyway I'd invite you to join us on cctalk too. Little more activity there. A small community, but bound to grow once this underdog shows it's true potential.
