The more recent releases of Bitcoin Core have really improved on a lot of things, including initial sync time. When I need to recommend a lightweight option I will usually go with Electrum, although I've hardly used it myself. Blockchain.info can be a pretty advanced web wallet - allowing import / export of addresses and other features. Coinbase, while a "good" company, I cannot recommend personally unless you want your economic activity inextricably linked to your personal data.

Which Bitcoin Client do you use and why ? If you use web wallets, please do mention which one is your choice and why ?

In hardware wallets- I have installed electrum and bitcoin core both but never used them yet, because never had much to store in them, always in circulation.

In web wallets- I have used blockchain.info before, but it has fees on every transaction, so now a days i use Xapo for daily transactions because Xapo has no fees on transactions.

you should keep in mind that by doing this or any other method that involves a wallet that is connected to the internet, you are taking a risk because a simple key-logger can steal your money.
so move to cold storage if you have big money invested in bitcoin.

And i would also suggest you not to use the same wallet for storing any bitcoins and doing daily transactions.
If you know you have bitcoins to store for a quite long time then just install a cold wallet in your PC and store then their, and do other daily transactions on web wallet so that you don't face a big loss in case your wallet is hacked or cracked, it rarely happens but who knows, better think before then regretting later.

Using electrum, is not there a security risk of being connected to spoofed/malicious/proxy electrum servers? Does the signing happen client side?

These are not very good practice. Start using paper wallet.

i have tried many bitcoin wallets, from the full node wallet like bitcoin core and armory to SPV wallets electrum and multibit, and also web wallets like blickchain.info and coinbase.

but in the end i am just using one of these as my main wallet and that is Electrum because i feel more comfortable with it and it is light.

I use the Electrum and Armory and Multibit client. The Multibit is the most simple and easy to use, however not much secure; on the other hand, Armory and Electrum are way more secure.

Bitcoin-QT for me too (should we call it Bitcoin Core today but im too used to saying QT) because its the only 100% guaranteed way that you are broadcasting the transactions in the blockchain since you own the blockchain locally.

Which Bitcoin Client do you use and why ? If you use web wallets, please do mention which one is your choice and why ?

I personally use the service of blockchain.info, because I think blockchain.info have many users and security has been guaranteed and proven. compared to other services I was less comfortable and confident. Thank you

i am also using blockchain.info but as a hot wallet to keep close for spending small amounts only.

it is a good service because you have access and control over the private keys and your wallet is saved in encrypted form on their servers

but also it is not safe because it is an online web wallet so it has the least security when you compare it with cold storage.

This is a good read, I like reading people's feedback on their different storage methods...

I agreed, with their different opinions and suggestions I became more aware of how am I gonna make secure my bitcoins.
This forum is really helpfull for a people who has lack of knowledge in bitcoin,..All I just know is trading, joining signature campaign and getting giveaways, sometimes faucets and etc. Smiley
