Dev, could you update the OP with the new website link please.

Also dev, do you have dropbox? to use instead of mediafire links
would be better as dengnizaidongji has suggested.

And if the btcltc exchange is no good, that should also be removed.
I've done so on the site for the time being.

Can a dev tell me what are the major difference between GrowthCoin and NovaCoin?

Your chance to shine

I wanted to remind everyone that in less than ONE HOUR we will have our third drawing, this means we will be adding two more coins to our exchange!
Growthcoin has only 4 votes right now, the good news is that you don't need to be at the top of the list for a chance to win, all you need is a minium of 100 votes (more is better, of course  Cheesy) and you will be entered into the random drawing which will be streamed live.

I think the wallet gets unresponsive (Linux and Windows) and unusable when you get a lot of transactions. I have over 4k transactions and can't use both wallets.

Anyone has the same issue? is this a known bug?  Planned fix?

If anyone has this problem, pm me, I have a fix/way around it. It's a bug when there are too many entries in the wallet, you need to run the daemon and use cmd line mode, send some out and when I sent them all to a new wallet, the old buggy wallet worked fine, after that. Just so you know. Smiley

I'm wondering if it may be the client trying to generate PoS blocks. I use the daemon version on *nix but I have noticed that PoS coin clients will go to 100% CPU when trying to stake, and will sometimes become unresponsive to RPC requests. Resending the balance to another wallet resets PoS, so that fix may actually just be a side effect Smiley

Try setting the following in Growthcoin.conf:

reservebalance=100000000

Or you can do it with RPC/JSON via the daemon:

growthcoind reservebalance true 100000000

that's exactly what I did, on the command line sent some out and the responsiveness came back.

Just so people know, this is "normal" behaviour since the wallet uses CPU power to find PoS blocks... the problem is that when you have a lot (I don't know the threshold here, might depend on your CPU speed) of blocks trying to stake at the same time, the CPU usage goes bananas! maybe a faster CPU would help, so transferring coins out did the trick because I killed the coinage in doing so (stop the PoS minting process). in other words I lost the stakes for those mature coins by sending them out.

so while it did work, it's sad for that PoS loss.

BTW, a nice feature to add to the wallet, since we are resurrecting this coin, would be coin control.  I think this is a MUST for all PoS coins as it enables you to send out freshly minted blocks without killing the age on the older ones and still keep a reasonable number of blocks so your CPU can breathe a little bit.

For the dev to look into (if not already familiar with the Coin Control) check out what HoboNickels' dev did for that
