Really! We have to get Women on Board.

You know, i consider myself a Feminist, and its just unfair that nobody helps Women to get into Bitcoin. We will all suffer, because there are no Women around. And I'll tell you the Reason why: I've just read that Thread about if Women use Bitcoin or not and I stumbled over some quote from some Woman-Reporter. She mentioned, that Women are responsible for so and so many sales (Like Trillions) and it is a missed opportunity if you don't have them on board because then they will spend the money elsewhere.

Now we have to realize that a Woman will never bother to buy a coin, because that is nerdy and Women don't like nerdy. And Woman SHOULD not buy the coin, they should WANT the coin because of what you can DO with the Coin. Women will help Bitcoin, because they wont hoard it. No Woman hoards money. They will spend it as fast as they can, thus finally giving Bitcoin the possibility to be a real currency. That is one MAJOR problem solved. With Women - Dont make it about the coin, make it about the amenities you have have with it. Women want to buy stuff that is A) expensive, B) fun, C) makes their girlfriends jealous and D) sparkles. Bitcoin has NONE of these qualities and - lets face it - wont ever have. So we can state, that Bitcoin is not apealing to Women, which is a shame, because Women are very important.

It is right, what the Woman-Reporter said. Women do buy lots of stuff, they spend so fucking much money. But they like things to be easy and smooth and to sparkle. It MUST not be complicated, it must not be necessary to think about what you're doing and it must not feel nerdy or creepy, but super-awesome. It must be as easy as opening your wallet and take the money out. As of yet you will have to help a Woman to make a transaction with Bitcoin every time, because they can't be bothered learning how to do it, be it one transaction, be it 1000. You'll alwasy start at step one. Bitcoin-Transactions are just something no Woman wants (or should have) to learn, because she really has other concerns, like dressing nice and going to the Prom and be an actress. As a Feminist I say, we as a community are doing WAY to little to help Woman come to use Bitcoin.

An Example: You know why Apple has had its huge success? WOMEN bought it because its easy. You basically can't do shit with an Ipad, because its so locked up, but its oh sooo easy to use. Everything that is hard is not for the Women! It really is not. Women are the real driving force in the economy. They have the financial power and often the say in spendings. Big commercial hits have all been EASY. Same with EVERY major thing in the last 20 years. Look at the adaption-rate of the Internet. The Women only started to come in after the modems died. Modems virtually scared the Women away from the internet, made strange noises and just did not feel right. Why should a Woman have to wait for Internets, feeling uncomfortable and scared by those strange noises? Dial-up was way to complicated, like 10times to complicated. But we managed this problem and made Internet as easy as 1-2-3 and then even easier. And -bam- came the Women. They all came! To make things short: If you want something to suceed - WOMEN must want it and then it HAS to be easy.

Bitcoin is NOT easy. Its just not. You know that. Think from a female perspective. Bitcoin is not funny, it does not make you laugh or feel good and there is nothing to feel. But these are the core-assests for Women. What is being done to enable Women to handle Bitcoins? We must motivate them and find a way to make it so easy to use, a 4-year-old Boy could handle it without a problem. Thats an exaggeration, but you get the point. I think this is one MAJOR direction we have to go with Bitcoin to really arrive at the Mainstream and get the money flowing in.

So lets make things easy for the Women, we'll all profit from it.

Edit: Had to clarify things, it was a little to feminist, I toned that down a little.

Women are not idiots. If you want to get them involved tell/educate them about Bitcoin just like you would anyone else, but I guess you're trolling.

Fun, social and easy.  I think that is why dogecoin has such a high percentage of female participation.

Has it? It's probably got a lot of guys pretending to be females for some coin.

the OP is obviously a single male that has never been married.

he has no clue about 'Women'. he even capitalises the W as if they are corporation or organisation, instead of human beings. and the only reason he thinks that the female half of our world did not use the internet or bitcoin, is because he does not talk to many females.

he is brushing the whole gender with the same brush based on the observations of most likely his own mother. an elderly lady that probably does not understand the internet or bitcoins, thus he believes women of all ages must be the same.

his delusional ramblings about how smart or brave women are not, truly proves why the thousands of women do not make themselves known on this forum.

guys like the OP would treat them as second class citizens or be hit on as if they were whores, but hidden in a manipulated paragraph about how the guys are born again feminists and want to bring women into this community.

so here is a direct message to the OP.
women are already in this community, they already probably know more about the internet and bitcoin than yourself, and they do not want the likes  of you pretending your opinion is in their best interest.

I DO NOT TRADE OR ACT AS ESCROW ON THIS FORUM EVER.
Please do your own research & respect what is written here as both opinion & information gleaned from experience. many people replying with insults but no on-topic content substance, automatically are 'facepalmed' and yawned at

Women do buy lots of stuff, they spend so fucking much money.
Seriously? The old "women do nothing but shop" stereotype?

It MUST not be complicated, it must not be necessary to think about what you're doing.
You want women to spend money without thinking about what they're doing? It doesn't sound like you have much respect for women.

You know why Apple has had its huge success? WOMEN bought it because its easy. You basically can't do shit with an Ipad, because its so locked up, but its oh sooo easy to use.
Not helping your case.

Everything that is hard is not for the Women!
Everything that is hard? I'm pretty sure most heterosexual women prefer some things to be hard. Not that there's anything wrong with being gay, of course.

Look at the adaption-rate of the Internet. The Women only started to come in after the modems died. Modems virtually scared the Women away from the internet, made strange noises and just did not feel right. Why should a Woman have to wait for Internets feeling uncomfortable by those strange noises?
Because women are too stupid in general and too inexperienced with telephony in particular to figure out how to use the "mute" switch? Yeah, that must be it.

Dial-up was way to complicated, like 10times to complicated.
Yeah, you actually had to put in a phone number to make a connection, and the whole concept of dialing a phone number pretty much goes right over women's heads. That's why all the major ISPs gave out their own installation discs that put the phone number in for you.

But we managed this problem and made Internet as easy as 1-2-3 and then even easier. And -bam- came the Women. They all came!
And then they saw posts like yours, and they all left and haven't been seen since.

Bitcoin is NOT easy. Its just not. You know that.
It's as easy as online banking. Or do women not understand that yet?

Think from a female perspective.
Okay. I think it's slightly harder to see my feet when I look down because my boobs are in the way, but otherwise my perspective is totally unchanged.

Bitcoin is not funny, it does not make you laugh or feel good and there is nothing to feel.
It's money. It's not supposed to be funny.

What is being done to enable Women to handle Bitcoins?
Well, for starters we're trying to curb the rampant sexism on this forum, but some folks aren't making it easy.

We must motivate them and find a way to make it so easy to use, a 4-year-old Boy could handle it without a problem. Thats an exaggeration, but you get the point.
No, I don't. Is the point that women have the mental capacity of a child? I don't see any other point being made in that comparison.

So lets make things easy for the Women, we'll all profit from it.
I get it now. You're trying to win approval of your sexist attitude by suggesting that sexism is profitable. Let me know how that works out for you.

Overall, I rate your sexist rant a C+. It is well structured, but most of the content is nothing I haven't heard before. There are a few semi-original points, but they are not well-researched and fall rather flat as a result. You would perhaps be better off sticking with the classics.

Your prejudices aside, the improper capitalizations are ubiquitous in his presentation, not limited to the word "Women".

Given that women are more than 50% of the population why is it that for the longest time 90+% of the btc holders were men?  Furthermore, why is it that the majority of all functions and activities concerning btc, including this forum, are overwhelmingly dominated by men?   The reason is simple, because inherently men and women are coded differently, more specifically women are genetically more risk averse than men, you may not like the way that sounds so look around or at the hard facts.

This isn't about intellect, "class", or opportunity access, it is rather their desire to get involved at this stage of the game.

Generally, women aren't interested in Bitcoin. Women are interested in practical. Bitcoin isn't practical, except for certain aspects of investment. Even though there are not as many women in pure investment as men, the women usually do better, because they are shrewder in a practical way.

Men aren't generally as practical as women. They are more innovative. That's why men make big money in investing. They find some innovative "trick" that earns them a lot.

Bitcoin is moving out of the stages of innovation. It has gone beyond innovation into the usage stage. That's where practicality begins and innovation ends, sort of.

Many men have said or thought that Bitcoin is ridiculous. They still say it in the news here and there all the time. Usually these men are servers of their wives. They listen to their wives and serve them as the fairer or weaker sex. These men usually couldn't think their way out of a wet paper bag without a woman telling them what to do.

The great thinkers among men, the innovators, usually have wives who are slightly subservient to them. Yet, they treat their wives grandly. And this is not to say that the men are boss. This is to say that this kind of woman makes her man the boss intentionally, and in so doing, agrees with her man that he has the final say. And this is not to say that the man lords it over the woman. Rather, he recognizes her in her capacity as the woman, her capability for the practical, and treats her fairly and rightly.

Innovation generally comes from the men. Practical use of the innovation generally comes from the women. The excitement over Bitcoin is dying down. The innovation - at least the initial BIG launching innovation - is over. It is time to move Bitcoin into use, to make it practical. We need the women to do this. At least we need women-style thinking.

This does NOT mean that Bitcoin is suddenly entirely devoid of any and all innovation. Actually, it is just the start. But here is the point that the men of Bitcoin should strive for:

  • Point Bitcoin, as much as possible towards practical use. When Bitcoin gets pointed towards practical use, you won't be able to stop the women from coming in. On top of that, all the wimpy, and semi-wimpy, innovative husbands will be drawn to Bitcoin by their practical wives. Bitcoin will expand in innovation beyond the wildest dreams of its creators.

Now, certainly this comment isn't complete. But start to realize that women are too practical for Bitcoin until Bitcoin becomes practical for them.

I think that you do not need to do anything special to interest women in bitcoin, I think that you just need to stop engaging in behaviours that specifically put them off, that call out that they are different. Try just looking past gender and not caring.

A lot of people will have read that and thought to themselves that they already don't care about the gender of someone they will talk to about bitcoin. But often these are the same people who will immediately go from "women and bitcoin" to "must be camgirls and prostitutes" or "did your boyfriend give you those coins" or "show me you're not an ugly nerd" types of behaviours.

I suspect that there are more women interested in dogecoin partly because that community doesn't really care about gender one way or the other. I'm sure it helps that shibe is cute, too, but I would not underestimate the power of just treating someone like a human being.

The infamous "This is what it's like to be a woman at a bitcoin meetup" article (http://ariannasimpson.com/post/74400025051/this-is-what-its-like-to-be-a-woman-at-a-bitcoin in case you somehow missed it) is a very plausible read; if we are honest we surely would agree that things could well have gone down exactly like that, and will go down like that again and again given current attitudes. It's really no mystery that few women would be interested in being in that environment, and it does not take any special effort to make it not like that.

Everyone has the same opportunity to get into Bitcoin. We are all individuals with our own thoughts and ideals. No need to cater to any collective.

No offence, and I'm sure a lot of women can be put onboard, but the typical woman is more concerned with her looks, her children and for things to 'look nice'. Women buy ipads, iphones, and share their life on facebook. They're in general not interested in privacy issues.

They way to get a mass influx of women to bitcoin would be to make an easy iphone app, having an easy way to load up a wallet with coins, and then giving rebates when they buy makeup and clothes.

Since apple rejects apps for bitcoin, I guess web-sites is the remaining safe bet.

This is a generalization, and not an attack on women, there exist nerd women out there as well, but most women does not care much about technology, but give them a cheaper way to get those nice shoes, and they might become interested.

Oh god, why am I so bored I'm posting in this thread.

GENERALLY:

Men = Competitive, ego, win, leading, logic, hunt, plan, problem-solve, thrust, aim, conquer, commanding, possessive

Women = Compassion, connections, gather, share, nurturing, relationships, social affinity, empathy, embrace, submit

Both = Love, humor, zest, ambition, cunning, caring, fun, learning, successful, creative, emotions, and more...

Note: None of the above qualities are weaknesses.

NOTE: I FUCKING SAID GENERALLY.  NOT DEFINITIVELY.

Obviously now, such characteristics will lend themselves naturally to certain things.  Can you all see how BTC is FAR FAR FAR more in-line with the male values??  DUH.  That's how it's always been with "nerd shit.".  That doesn't mean it excludes women, though.  It just will always be predominately male.

I am a woman and I use Bitcoin.   Grin  (that was a thread I posted almost a year ago)

It may have been "I am a housewife and I use Bitcoin" but I can't exactly remember how I phrased it.

But there are some of us on here.
