Hi everyone, Since most sites are scamming people on the internet, and suppliers are taking too long to ship, im interested in finding or designing ASIC mining chips for myself. I dont know if currently some manufacturer in china might be doing this already, and i can buy the hardware to build something myself. Has anyone gone about this, or am i looking at something either too expensive or too hard to find. It doesnt really make sense for hardware mining companies to build money making machines to sell them. So i think the way to go is... if your really wanting to min for a living, build your own powerful mining rig. I want to to build a mining rig with at least 24 TeraHashes by the end of 2014. Alibaba.com has seem to be a place with a variety of wholesale suppiers in china but doesnt look high quality. http://www.alibaba.com/trade/search?fsb=y&IndexArea=product_en&CatId=&SearchText=ASIC+miner+

getting an ASIC produced is not rocket science, and the basic SHA256 algorithm is available - but there is some big start up costs - and you need to optimize it .. the key is how fast the foundry can turn out chips based on the current schedule

I see what you´re saying, and it makes sense, i have reviewed some of the algorithims. I know the idea is basic but optimizing for higher speeds is what im looking at. I got a line of people who dont know a rads as of what a bit coin is but are willing to fund, cause the coin fluctuates like crazy. How much money do you think it would cost to build a ASIC miner like the Callistos from highbitcoin.com?

If you're looking to develop your own ASIC it's going to run into the single digit Millions for your first run. If it were me, I'd get in touch with Friedcat to see about getting the comms protocol and datasheet for their upcoming 40nm chip and get to designing an implementation.

You want to spend 300 dimes on a custom ASIC solution and don't know who friedcat is?
yikes.
