Power problem!?!?!

I have 2 rigs 1 pulling 650watts other is pulling 700 roughly with a killawatt. My question is can there be a problem running these two on the same lines because Just now after a while they both shut off !?!?!? and It smells like burning electronics. I left them off for now so I can ask you kind folks... I needa make sure all cards and stuff are good also!

what PSU on each?

1350 watts from a  single 120 outlet is a heavy load (assuming 120v USA 15 amp circuit) you may have voltage drop which pushes the PSU a bit harder (ie it generates slightly more heat).

needless to say a burning electronic smell is bad.

Had similar issue and solved it by running a heavy-duty construction extension cord to a known 20 amp circuit wall outlet for a rig pulling 960 watts then using the original 15 amp circuit for a rig pulling 650 watts. Very stable now.

An important variable is the distance from the circuit breaker/splitter in regards to voltage drop. The further away the more drop you'll get with a 15 amp circuit due to the smaller gauge wire (in the US anyway). 20 amp circuits use the next larger size wiring for less drop in a similar distance run.

1300 watts is not out of the question for a 15amp circut, especially if nothing else is on it, but that circuit probably has other things pulling power other then your rigs..  1300 watts is a hairdryer, or a portable heater. 

Did the circut breaker blow?

yup. plus pc power and cooling and most antecs. of course seasonic makes the guts of most of those units anyway heh.

Where did the smell come from?

Check all your wiring (including the sockets and any surge protectors) for any signs of burning, if you spot any take that cable and bin it. And test all your PSU's outside of your rigs by "hot-wiring" them to start attached to a fan or something, last thing you want is for a damaged PSU to surge out into your rig.

If available, always keep an electrical use safe fire extinguisher in an easy to reach place when mining, they cost like $20 from your local fire station and believe me, if the worst did happen that $20 is a lot cheaper than your house, or even your family.
