Odd that the Manager picks it up but the BTC wallet one won't... Possibly a weird driver glitch... but that would usually mean that you can't use the Manager either.

[1]Have you tried using the Manager to uninstall all the apps from the device... and then re-add the Bitcoin coin app on the device?  Or maybe try and uninstall and reinstall the Ledger Wallet Bitcoin chrome app?

First problem, I think out here is a unsuccessful connection of ledger wallet with computer.

Possible solution[1]  or there is a problem with device drivers and not apps. I also own a Ledger Nano S and I have faced issues where Ledger Manager doesn't notices the ledger wallet device.

In Windows, Device manager lists it with a yellow triangle before the device name. And in such situation uninstall the device and plugging-in the wallet makes up a successful connection. Not sure for OS X users but for Windows users here are the steps to fix the situation :

    Quote
    Assuming you're on Windows:

    • Open device manager.
    • Expand the section "human interface devices" and check if there is any device with a yellow warning sign. It's most probably the nano s.
    • Double click and and select the "driver" tab.
    • Click "update driver" (or something similar).
    • Wait (for quite a while) while Windows is searching for, downloading (again) and installing the respective driver(s).

Once the driver is updated successfully and there's no more yellow warning sign beside the device the nano update via the app should go through.

    Source: https://www.reddit.com/r/ledgerwallet/comments/82eza3/update_bug/

Check if you can open the Ledger Bitcoin app now. If not then I suggest going to next step but please make sure you are having the recovery seed.

Secondly , I suggest performing MCU restoration and performing an update again. Its possible that firmware wasn't updated properly so I suggest to perform this again. Open the Ledger Manager app and perform these steps:

    Quote
    • Unplug your Nano S.
    • Hold down the button closest to the USB port.
    • Plug your Nano S in while still holding that button.
    • It'll update the MCU firmware. It may require you to press both buttons to confirm.

Source: Taken from one of reply from here: https://www.reddit.com/r/ledgerwallet/comments/82f1sk/firmware_upgrade_stuck_at_mcu_firmware_is_outdated/
    [/list]

Third, performing a reset on ledger wallet and recover the wallet with the seed you have.

    Hope this helps.

Coinomi and Electrum both fail to recover the wallet completely. They only recover the primary account . They are unable to recover the wallet's account if a user has maintained multiple accounts. I have maintained 3 accounts in Ledger wallet BTC app where Acc #1 and Acc #3 contains 0 balance but Acc #2 has 0.00011 btc. When I try to recover by putting seed into Coinomi or Electrum, they only recover addresses from Acc #1.

It is possible that the OP maintains his accounts in that way.

You really did not write anything new which could solve this problem, but just repeating the above mentioned things once more.

    - OP is solve problem with connection Ledger -> Google Apps - this is clearly visible if you read his previous posts.

    - I already suggested that he reset device and make firmware update (post 38).

    - Manage multiple Bitcoin accounts - explained in post 36.

I also think sokicsokic is made a wrong step at one point, and all this time he have wrong seed - but it is confusing that he claim BCH is visible with this current seed, and BCH and BTC share the same address which should be generated from the same seed...

I also think sokicsokic is made a wrong step at one point, and all this time he have wrong seed - but it is confusing that he claim BCH is visible with this current seed, and BCH and BTC share the same address which should be generated from the same seed...
That's not what he is claiming... he said he can also see BCH on the address (ie. via a blockexplorer).

    bitcoin Legacy,segwit
    bitcoin cash main,separate

there is no address anywhere, i have same amount of bitcoin cash on address

But he cannot see his address on ANY of the Ledger chains (BTC - Legacy, BTC - SegWit, BCH - Main, BCH - Split).

The only logical explanation, is that the seed that OP is trying to restore the wallet with is NOT the seed that generated the address.

    bitcoin Legacy,segwit
    bitcoin cash main,separate

there is no address anywhere, i have same amount of bitcoin cash on address
Then the simple answer is that you have the wrong seed mnemonic. Sad

So i create 24 word phrase, send bitcoin and i see balance, after few months i login again with same seed and i see balance,
You don't "login" with a seed... do you mean that you reset your Ledger and restored it using your seed? or do you mean you simply used your Ledger again after a few months? Huh

Im deeply convinced that i lose my coins because ledger nano s bug.I don have any other explanation what could happen.Only think what can be possible if i create separate new seed with same 24 words in the same order, but i think this is not possible.
It would appear that for whatever reason, at some point, you have set up your ledger and started using it with a new/different seed mnemonic (which generates different addresses) and have not written this seed down (possibly during one of your many attempts to try and get the device working)... you've then sent coins to an address generated by the "new" seed mnemonic.

After finally getting the firmware on the device updated, you've attempted to restore using the "old" seed mnemonic that you do have written down... however this is NOT the seed mnemonic that your address was generated from... hence the addresses are different and you don't see the transactions and/or coins Undecided

i restore address right after i write seed, with same seed i create ethereum wallet and also i was able to restore few months later and i see balance for bitcoin and ethereum and this time i send  ethereum to another address

I tried access with electrum but no luck, with iancoleman i change acc value to 1 o 9 and i cant find the address
when i want restore ledger he never ask me words randomly,I need always put all 24 words and pin again and again,i check similar words and another order to restore ledger but nothing

As already stated... all the evidence leads me to believe that the seed mnemonic you have written down is NOT the seed mnemonic that generated the address you sent coins to. How or why you have a different seed mnemonic, I cannot answer, as I do not know what steps/actions you have done when setting up and using your Ledger.

It is also possible that you simply sent the coins to the wrong address (clipboard virus that changes addresses? or possibly just copy/pasted the wrong address).

    No.

99% of all user on reddit do not have any clue what they are talking about.

IMO this doesn't make any sense. Ledger did never change anything in their key derivation. Therefore an older firmware (which isn't available anyway due to security reasons) won't help you (it will generate the same private-/public- keypairs).
The theory of a 'bug' which only appears with a small percentage of seeds is.. nonsense.

Unfortunately i have to agree with the majority here. You probably have made a mistake when setting up your nano s (written down wrong seed / initialized again after writing it down without writing this new seed down).
This is the only logical explanation  Undecided

like i said,i login with ledger nano s and make transaction with same seed
but i have something else on mind what maybe can be

to update new firmware ,i needed restore configuration and this result with not working pin
maybe i initialize new wallet with same seed?
    or is possible next:
that i have 12 word secret key created from 24 words ,to unlock wallet ledger ask me like this
    for example
for first word chose word numer 18 from 24 words
for second chose word number 5
and so on till 12,i am not sure about this but i remember something like this that ledger asked me random words when i unlock wallet last time
probably i have right seed but wrong order

to update new firmware ,i needed restore configuration and this result with not working pin

The pin to unlock your nano s is unrelated to any firmware update.

maybe i initialize new wallet with same seed?

If you use the same seed, it is the same wallet.

    or is possible next:
that i have 12 word secret key created from 24 words

     Huh
There is no '12 word secret key'.

The nano s derives your private keys from the 24 word mnemonic. Nothing else.

    for example
for first word chose word numer 18 from 24 words
for second chose word number 5
and so on till 12,i am not sure about this but i remember something like this that ledger asked me random words when i unlock wallet last time
probably i have right seed but wrong order

The 'right seed' in a wrong order is NOT the correct seed.
The last word contains a checksum. So, even if you shuffle your words, the seed won't be accepted. Simply because it is NOT A VALID SEED.

Your seed is only valid (and functional) in the correct order. Changing the order of the words will give you an 'Invalid seed' error.

If your seed is being accepted (which it is) it is in the correct order. This did not cause your issue.

so only what is left is ledger bug

    Not really.

The most probable case (as already mentioned by multiple people here) is that YOU have done a mistake.
An extremely rare ledger bug which only happened to one person doesn't sound realistic at all..

Sometimes it is hard to accept.. but 98% of computer problems are caused by the person in front of it.

Next time, make sure you backup the correct seed, reinitialize it and test whether it reproduces the correct addresses. Only then store funds there.

    can anyone confirm this?
That reddit user was NOT saying that there is definitely a bug that caused that... they were just saying that it *might* be a bug.

My honest opinion is that it is not a bug and most likely the result of some confusion on your behalf... whether this is just because it has been so long since you set it up that you don't remember 100% what happened between when you originally set up the ledger and wrote those words down... and now when you are trying to restore your ledger.

You say that you did transactions successfully prior to trying to do the update... but that doesn't require you to input the seed. You just need to unlock the device with the PIN. PINs are not related seeds... they're just a security option for the device, so you can use any PIN with any seed.

So, it is possible that at some point you had reinitialised the device with a new seed after you wrote the words on the card you have... you'd still be able to do transactions, but the addresses you'd be using would be completely different and unrelated to the seed on your card.

Not having first hand knowledge of exactly what you have and have not done makes it difficult for anyone other than yourself to truly know what has happened in this instance. Undecided

    No. You are 100% wrong.

You NEVER access your nano s with your seed. You only initialize it ONCE.
Each time afterwards, you are accessing it with your pin. Your seed is stored inside your ledger.

Without having any clue, at least listen to us. You are repeating yourself. Your coins are gone. You have used the wrong seed.
Take it as a lesson and move forward.

bob123 is correct... you should NEVER need to use your seed... you should plug in the nano, enter your PIN only... then it should be ready to be used.

The only time you ever need to re-enter the seed is if you wipe the device (ie. you enter the wrong PIN 3 times)... or you have to buy a new device because your old one got lost/stolen/destroyed.
