Seeking reporter badge images

I doubt we need additional motivation for people who otherwise don't care about the forum enough to report spam. Just like the sig-bounty "motivation" to create shitposts this would just cause new headaches.

People only need another push =] to join the signature campaign you need to have :
      - at least 25 merit
      - a tier 2 reporter badge
Another option is : you will get extra bucks for the previous two!

Be cautious with something that can make some extra bucks for the people...
If the second reporter badge will be required for something (joining to campaign, etc.. where they talk about money in the end), people who really want to join, will do everything (legal or illegal) to achieve that 2nd badge...
The easiest way for our much-loved spammers is to create some fake accounts, create around 500 (or 1000, depends on the final decision of the limit) spam posts and report them on the spot... This will give them the second badge and will give the forum another 500 (or 1000) spam posts in various topics.... (and another 500 or 1000 post to check for the mods, who could check other 500 or 1000 real spam post instead...)

I kinda agree to not to make the reporter badge tier 2 as a requirement to join a signature campaign. I believe merit will be more suitable for it and some managers already applied it nowadays.

Personally I don't like the idea of compulsion to report anything. Such things confer an additonal value on the report badges (which they initially didn't comprise) and provokes excessive nervousness. Many people here are already too serious and wary.

Serious into a good things and bring positiveness is good. I always consider that as a good thing. Meanwhile, lack of seriousness can cause a a lot of mess. See our forum now. Lot of spam (by spam, i mean a really really low quality posts)

1. 300 good reports - notebook and 1 pencil (pen/stylus)

Idea is good but im not gonna be rude we are in technological era and everything is now "smart".
Would like just little to correct 1 to stay note and pencil, that now it just to be done and can be good indicator that someone is willing to do this.
Second can be tape recorder or something similar to this, cuz we have this in past and they usually done this with some sort of taperecorder unit.
Third can be image of person talking over phone or tablet image, this is how is done today.

All modern devices have recording and video recording so it can be like this.

We can have all eras with these images and it could look good.

1. So no need to tell anyone that it will be implemented - just implement once - together with the launch of the system of icons reporters  
2. A snapshot of the database of reports can be used for any date - today, yesterday, a week ago.

They can expect anything. Declare that airdrop is a single and will not be repeated under any circumstances (precisely because there may be abuse when re-conducting)

Merit itself is a kind of reward for quality posts. Reports are not related to posting. I don't think that it's correct to associate them in any way (all the more we already passed through it).

You propose to depict every stage with different image? I suppose it would be a mess. Bitcointalk'd start to remind all these forums and image boards, where housewives make huge blinking avatars and all profiles are obstructed with badges of different sizes and styles. IMO strict unified design and minimalism are preferable here.

Even if it was possible to avoid abuse I don't think it is desirable. Merit is meant to mean that only deserving posters can progress up the ranks and giving merit for anything else defeats that.

I understand very little of this, but abuse will happen if you merely get it 'airdropped' just for reporting. It's basically a free and easy way to get merit without actually earning it. Anyone can report a spam post, not everyone can make a quality/orignal post. People will almost certainly just start reporting their own bots.

Or make it not happen at all. Can you tell me exactly why you think this needs to happen at all?

I more often see a tendency here: a proposal which benefits mainly the one that proposed it.
The case with an airdrop is not a good solution, why would you benefit of something which everyone else is doing for free?

When I started reporting there was no merit system but nothing stopped me from doing so, as I was not expecting any reward or anything. It just makes me feel worthy even though nobody knew how many I have reported it was just for me.

If you report only as obligation, because someone told you so or only for the reward you are doing it wrong, just from a personal point of view. This has to be responsibly for you as you are a part of a society here and you have your role here. If I have to mention the fact that you can actually make money,  as many people are"working" here, this should be enough reward for you responsibly.

It's just my point of view.

Also if someone is "good" in shiposting (or truly good in making quality posts), you don't need to mark it somehow - you can see it just from their posts (unlike reports which are hidden from public).
