INT Chain Won the Top Ten Blockchain Community of the Year Award

On August 24, 2018, INT Chain was invited to join the “4th China Community Carnival” hosted by the International Community Alliance (ICA) in Shenzhen. The carnival gathered excellent domestic and international community teams and industry experts. In the awards session, INT Chain won the “Top Ten Blockchain Community of the Year Award” with the advantages of community member base, member professionalism, community activity and brand influence.

The ICA is founded jointly by 108 domestic and international outstanding communities and enterprises and guided by the CNII of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and Internet Application Innovation Committee of ISC. It aims to establish the standards and cultivate talents for communities, and provide systematic and professional community services for community leaders and entrepreneurs.

INT Chain Launched the Gaia Project

To make the community more active INT Chain launched Gaia Project around the world on Monday, August 27, 2018 which covers two major activities: one is the launch of the global technology developer community, and the other is article and design competition.

Yin Xiangyu, head of INT China, has stated that community autonomy may be the next hot spot for the blockchain. Attracting technology developers and peers around the world to discuss the technology trends of the IoT and blockchain has been what INT always hopes to do. The launch of the Global Developers Community Website (r/http://tech.intchain.io/) is only the beginning of technical ecological construction. In the future, INT will also contribute to accelerating the application of technology by working together with universities, science and technology laboratories, research institutes and other institutions worldwide.

INT Chain also has a plan of launching the mainnet. Whether a meta node will be from the developer community may be another highlight for the community.

INT Builds a Global Developer Community

Jack Ma, the founder of Alibaba, mentioned recently at the 20th annual conference of China Association for Science and Technology, that in the coming ten to twenty years, society as a whole will face major challenges due to three main technology advancements – IoT (Internet of Things), machine learning and blockchain technology, the hindsight from historical trends following technology revolutions. Progress in IoT and blockchain technology are moving steadily in tandem as can be seen in the recent growth of IoT blockchain projects. Blockchain technology is undergoing tremendous changes and may hold the key to unlock two of the biggest challenges in IoT: privacy and security. Seizing opportunities from the technological changes is an ongoing goal that is being pursued within these blockchain projects.


Bringing developers together can certainly help find solutions to the challenges in the technology industry. The most successful global tech companies have maintained a developer community as part of their development strategy, as well as holding key developer-centric events such as the annual Apple WWDC Conference, Google I/O Conference, Facebook F8 Conference, attracting tens of thousands of technical enthusiasts and professionals around the world.

INT is building a global developer community, with an aim to create an INT DApp ecosystem. Due to the barriers to entry for blockchain development, many developers interested in DApp development would require some form of assistance or guide. To help achieve this, INT has created a developer community portal, which will be used as a platform for communication and research between developers and enthusiasts.

R&D PROGRESS
Current Progress

1. Continuous technical perfection of INT main chain

  • The R&D team improved some new business functions about INT smart contract. At the same time, several new TXs were added and the standard of Token functions was determined. The related improvement work will be gradually carried out; (40%)
  • The R&D team has determined the rules for the node election as specified in the previous bi-weekly report. During these two weeks the team made partial adjustments on the reward schemes for super nodes and candidate nodes, and continued to promote the development related to nodes; (70%)
  • The R&D team has fixed the bug caused by the transaction abnormal nonce, and the next step will be to carry out the improvement work related to the transaction pool ; (50%)
  • To make it easier for developers to develop applications on INTChain, the team developed intjs (INT javascript) middleware and released it as an npm package. Afterward developers can direct call the node’s rpc interface by using the middleware; (100% progress)
  • The team has started the development on a full-node wallet development,and set up the framework;(30%)
  • The team solved several business bugs, and will keep solving problems found in stress test;(70%)
  • Regarding the previous determined function of INT smart contract, the development is almost complete, and the testing is conducted orderly. (70%)

2. Improvement of INT wallet and explorer

  • The development of token transfer and voting functionality is almost complete. Related testing and fixing of bugs is underway.
  • With regard to blockchain explorer (explorer.intchain.io), the development of the query module for INT smart contract is progressing. In addition, business development related to voting has been started.

Next Step Plan

  • Continue the development on INT smart contract and gradually improve new business functions;
  • In order to successfully implement the node election in the future, the R&D team will continue to perfect the node development;
  • Continue the improvement related to the transaction pool;
  • After completion of the framework for the full-node wallet, the R&D team will further develop and improve it;

Current Progress

1. Continue to promote cooperation with smart site project party

  • With regard to the first pilot project jointly undertaken by the INT team and Hubei Smart Site project party, the final round of optimization work has been carried out. After the relevant data is connected to the headquarter platform successfully, INT will complete pre-acceptance. Next week, the leaders of Hubei Industrial Construction Group and their technical experts will conduct final acceptance of this pilot project;

2. In-depth cooperation on the smart gateway project

  • In response to the increase in the investment of R&D personnel mentioned in the previous bi-weekly report, with the efforts of many R&D personnel, the hardware product version has been completed so far. The R&D of PCB board in production and structural repair is also steadily progressing. At the same time, software IOS and Android APP design together with UI design has been completed. Besides, the development of WEB-side and background system is orderly moving forward. After several discussions with the Telecom, the INT team determined a preliminary product marketing strategy including a marketing plan for online and offline sales;

3. Seek for the solutions to the Internet of Things in the construction of smart cities

  • INT is committed to building a new IoT ecosystem. At present the IoT technology has become the mainstay in the construction of smart cities. INT has collected and sorted schemes in many application areas of smart cities, such as structural testing of bridge piers, smart parking spaces and traffic condition detection. It is expected to improve the construction of smart cities through continuous technology upgrade;

4. Connection with an unmanned plant protection machinery company

  • INT has recently connected with an unmanned plant protection machinery company concerning the application of blockchain technology. During the discussion, both parties pointed out that there are bottlenecks in the unmanned plant protection machinery industry such as lack of standards and difficulties in breaking through core technologies. It is expected to build a symbiotic and win-win platform of smart agriculture cooperation through subsequent in-depth cooperation.


Next Step Plan

  • In-depth communication with a well-known Internet company

After the first round communication between INT and the well-known Internet company, the INT team now has carried out sufficient research on smart parks and smart parking, aiming at providing a reliable solution to the follow-up cooperation between the two parties and promoting the application of blockchain technology in social life as soon as possible.

2. 2018 INT Gaia Project Launch

INT, targeting at making a different world formally launched the 2018 INT (Internet Node Token) Gaia Project on August 27, which includes two parts: Tech BoT — INT Global Developer Community Website launch and article and design competition. INT hope to draw on the wit, flair, imagination, ingenuity and technological strength to build a distinctive IoT blockchain ecosystem through the Project and deliver Gaia Theory of a new era.


3. INT Builds a Global Developer Community

INT Global Developer Community Portal was live on August 27. Experienced developers and technical newcomers are welcome to sign up for the developer community portal (http://tech.intchain.io/) for communication and research between developers and enthusiasts and building of a new IoT ecosystem.


Next Step Plan

  • Start the selection of creative designs

Gaia Project has been supported by fans since its launch. We have successfully received some article and design entries for the Gaia Project. The submission of design will end on September 20. After the submission deadline, the INT operations team will select the final 10 outstanding works and give corresponding rewards.

COMMUNITY UPDATES

1. Add a section of technical updates

In order to enable overseas communities to know the technical progress of INT in a timely manner, INT has recently added a section of technical updates on the main chain, wallet and the blockchain explorer, etc..


2. Create a bullet message group

On August 29th, INT created the official bullet message group to provide a new communication platform for users. Users are welcome to join the new group by downloading bullet message app and scanning the QR code.

  • The R&D team completed the development of several major TXs, and the next step is to test; (60%)
  • In the case of high-frequency transmission, the corresponding development of the transaction pool is almost complete; (80%)
  • The R&D team continued to improve the intjs middleware, and added some interface functions related to account operations and signature transactions; (70%)
  • Development of the full-node wallet has been completed. The next step is UI improvement, function refinement, and testing.; (60%)

Up to now, the R&D personnel of both parties have started the interface debugging for the development of the APP, and tested the function code. The hardware type has been confirmed and 3C certification and communication service certification have begun. In addition, the INT team also started the negotiation about the marketing plan of online and offline sales with Telecom.

2. The final acceptance of the smart site project

  • Following the final round of optimization work between the INT team and the Hubei Smart Site project party, this week, the leaders of Hubei Industrial Construction Group and their technical experts completed the final acceptance of the pilot project.

Focusing on the development and challenges of blockchain, blockchain data privacy and security, public chain practice and application, INT representatives analyzed blockchain technology and industry application, and shared some feasible solutions and development trends with technology researchers and enthusiasts.



2. In-depth discussion with Turing Award Winner Silvio Micali

On September 16th, INT Chief Architect Dr. Xiang Ruofei and the technical team attended academic forum event:“Prospects & Challenges of Blockchain and the Algorand Solution” hosted at Zhejiang University. The event gathered more than 200 blockchain enthusiasts including Professor Silvio Micali, founder of Algorand, Turing Award-winning cryptographer, and professor of computer science at MIT to share insights on the existing challenges in the blockchain technology field and the prospect for the blockchain.


During the forum, Dr. Xiang Ruofei discussed with Professor Micali about the possible impact of Shor’s algorithm and quantum computing on Algorand blockchain. Professor Micali believes that before the implementation of quantum computation, what’s to be done is to ensure the steady development of blockchain technology. It is the foundation of all things. He also believes that the development of the Algorand blockchain requires more technological innovations and attempts. Both Dr. Xiang Ruofei and Professor Micali are very optimistic about the development of the blockchain and agreed that only continuous upgrade and evolution of the blockchain technology can fulfil the needs of launching more applications.


3. INT representatives attended the Computing Conference 2018

On September 19th, the Computing Conference 2018 themed as “Empower Digital China” was held in Hangzhou. The Computing Conference hosted by Alibaba Group gathered the most influential minds of the data technology world, exploring how emerging technologies like AI, IoT, machine learning, and blockchain can be made more inclusive and have profound impacts on our economy and daily life. INT will attempt the cooperation with exhibitors on site from the perspective of INT’s business cooperation, technology development, ecological construction, etc.


4. INT officially entered I-lab Incubator

Recently, INT was selected as a high-quality IoT and blockchain project to enter the I-lab incubator. On September 18th, Yin Xiangyu, head of INT China, and Xiang Ruofei, Chief Architect of INTchain, participated in the four-stage “Orientation Entrepreneurship Training Camp” of I-lab. I-lab Incubator is a high-end entrepreneurial acceleration platform established by Shanghai Yidian Group, District Government of Xuhui, Shanghai and Microsoft (China). Relying on Microsoft’s global eco-chain technology innovation and integrating government science and technology resources and the advantages of Yidian Group, the Incubator provides rich and diversified resources for the incubation project, and provide sufficient development space and growth opportunities for the projects through high-quality platforms such as industry chain, investment and financing, market environment and alumni network. It is believed that INT will gain more rapid and efficient development after entering the Incubator.



5. Submission of design ends on September 20th

Gaia Project has been supported by fans since its launch by joining the developer community or entering the competitions. The submission of design ended on September 20. The INT operations team will then conduct a public evaluation in the next 10 days to finalize the winning outstanding works and give them awards.

INT Main Net Q&A

Q1: What will be the core functions of the main net?
A1: The core functions of the main net include asset transfer, data storage, smart contracts and Dapps.

Q2: How will a user access these functions?
A2: A user can perform transactions and query transactions through the wallet. Developers can develop applications through a full-node wallet.

Q3: What will be the transactions per second of the network? Is this based on the subchain or metachain?
A3: It is estimated that the TPS will be around 2000 but the final specific number will be determined according to the further pressure testing. It is based on thearchy chain.

Q4: How will consensus in the network be managed?
A4: DPoS will be managed through open voting, and DBFT will be managed in the following aspects: processing of abnormal blocks, submission of proposals by meta nodes, public chain governance, etc.

Q5: Will the meta nodes be owned and operated by INT at the beginning?
A5: The main net will be launched by the node of INT foundation. All the meta nodes will be generated after the first round of community voting according to the voting rules.

Q6: How will the supernodes be determined?
A6: Anyone can become a meta node candidate if they meet the requirements. At the end of each round of voting, the candidate with the most votes will become the meta node within the next round of voting, and so on. All blocks are generated by the meta nodes in turns.

Q7: Will block producers be randomly selected for every block or after a series of blocks?
A7: Meta nodes take turns producing blocks.

Q8: Will there be rewards for participating in voting?
A8: No, there will be no rewards.

Q9: What will the economic incentives for participating in consensus and security of the network?
A9: Meta nodes have the obligation to generate blocks, participate in consensus mechanisms and maintain network security. For meta nodes that successfully generate blocks and fulfill required obligations, they will receive INT as a reward.

Q10: How will you punish Byzantine behavior?
A10: For a meta node that is evil or dishonest, if it cannot continuously release valid blocks within a certain period of time, the node will be kicked out for a certain time and not receive rewards.

Q11: What are the foreseen hardware requirements and loads for nodes in the network?
A11: Relevant information will be announced in the future node plan.

Q12: Will the main net launch the secondary INT token? What will this be called?
A12: No, there will be no the secondary INT token.

1. Complete the sampling of router – smart gateway hardware

  • The R&D personnel of both INT and Telecom have completed the determination of the model of the router and the self-test and debugging of the function code of the device server. By the end of September, the router sample was officially produced, and the R&D personnel of both parties started the stability test of the sample product, and continued to debug the function of the interface program of the related APP. In terms of product qualification assessment, 3C certification and communication service certification are progressing.

2. Confirm an intelligent information cooperation with a prison in Lishui, Zhejiang

  • Intelligent information construction has always been an important area for INT technology research and development and application. Since September, INT and a prison in Lishui, Zhejiang have conducted many informal discussions on the construction of an intelligent information management system. Through communications, the prison party highly recognized INT technology and project plans, and recently finalized the cooperation plan. The total amount of the cooperation project is 3 million RMB. After the National Day holiday, the both parties will complete the signing of the cooperation agreement.

3. Continuous testing and development work of smart gateway hardware

  • INT and Telecom evaluated the smart gateway hardware - router stability testing and the APP interface function debugging result, which is used for the adaptation and adjustment of the main chain server function and the improvement of the product for the hardware manufacturer, accelerating the assessment of the product qualification. At the same time, the both parties discussed the initial marketing plan for the online and offline sales, and improved and determined the implementation of the plan.

4. Participate in the bidding for a smart IoT project in a primary school in Quzhou, Zhejiang

  • Recently, INT, together with a design institute participated in the planning and design of a new smart IoT project in a primary school in Quzhou, Zhejiang. In the design plan, INT successfully recommended the plan of electronic control system in the classroom in the INT Internet of Things technology. At present, the school is promoting the financial approval process, and the project will be issued after the National Day. INT will be invited to participate in the project bidding, and relevant technical solutions are being actively prepared.

1. INT Chief Architect attended the BIT BANG blockchain underlying technology development meeting

On September 28th, Dr. Xiang Ruofei,Chief Architect of INT and the technical team were invited to participate in the BIT BANG blockchain underlying technology development meeting. The event organizer, Bibi News, invited three blockchain R&D teams including INT, to discuss and share experiences on the development of the underlying technology of the blockchain. During the meeting, Dr. Xiang, delivered a speech with a theme of "INT CHAIN - Application Exploration of Blockchain and IoT" for the guests and a number of technology enthusiasts. Dr. Xiang also had an in-depth analysis of blockchain technology and industry applications, and shared the future plan of INT project solutions in the underlying technology development.


2. The activity of Mid-Autumn Festival was successfully concluded

On September 24th, the Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival, in return for the support of INT fans, INT hosted an activity of drawing the moon to win a reward. The activity was very popular once launched. Before the National Day, the event rewards were all sent out. In the future, more interesting and small activities will be launched continuously. Welcome your attention and participation!


3. The selection of design is in progress

Thanks fans for the active involvement and enthusiastic support, we finally received a total of 70 designs from around the world. At present, the selection is in progress. INT has posted voting links to all official community channels, and welcome community members to choose the most favorite design. During the voting period, each account has up to 10 votes. Using all 10 votes will qualify for a reward of 20 INT, on a first come first served basis. Limited voting rewards are available. The voting will be end on October 5, and the winning entries will be determined by community votes and INT scoring. The winning entries will be announced on October 10.

R&D PROGRESS
Current Progress

1. Continuous technical perfection of INT main chain

  • After all the standard functions related to the INT token were developed, the R&D team immediately followed up and completed the first round of token related testing, during which the technical members found and fixed several bugs about information flow distribution. The second round of testing will begin next week; (75%)
  • In late September, we successfully implemented new work on several rpc interfaces in the main chain and started related tests on interface performance. At present, the optimization of rpc interface and the return of parameters are gradually being carried out. Considering the test requirements for data security, we will extend the development appropriately; (30%)
  • With regard to the fork issue and performance of the main chain in extreme cases, the R&D team continued to repair and debug the relevant codes repeatedly. At present, the overall improvement is almost complete. Afterwards, we will continue to conduct more intense pressure testing; (70%)
  • The improvement of UI interface is one of the most critical development of the full-node wallet, and its importance is no less than the previous program development. At present, the overall adjustment of the wallet interface has come to an end, and then the special technical team will carry out the second round of testing; (80%)
  • The destructive testing and business testing on all rpc interfaces are moving forward. During the National Day, the R&D team continued the testing and found some new bugs. The current solution has been verified theoretically, and next the team will continue to fix the bugs; (50%)
  • Considering the future business of the main chain, the R&D team is optimizing some logical issues related to block size and tx size; (80%)
  • The security of INT chain has always been the core of the R&D, not only lying in the technical architecture, but also in the future main chain operation and commercial application. Therefore, a security audit of INT chain is imperative, and the preliminary work has been carried out; (10%)
  • The R&D team continues to solve the problems found in the stress test related to the main chain business part. (90%)

2. Improvement of INT wallet and explorer

  • The R&D team will conduct the final round of testing on the full-node wallet;
  • The upgrading of the new blockchain explorer (explorer.intchain.io) has been carried out smoothly, the number of bugs is reduced, and the performance is improved compared with the old version. The R&D team has entered the second phase of testing and will continue the improvement.

Next Step Plan

  • Carry out the second round of testing on token related testing;
  • Continue to improvement the rpc interface and the return of parameters;
  • Continue to conduct a more intense pressure testing about the performance of the main chain;
  • Continue the testing on the full-node wallet;

Previous Technical Progress Tracking

  • The testing related to transaction pool in the case of high frequency transmission is successfully complete and the current program of transaction pool runs stably. In the follow-up, we will continue to observe the operation of the program; (85%)
  • The INT smart contract testing has been completed, and the R&D team has discovered and solved all the bugs by simulating different trading stress environments. Before the INT mainnet launch, we may conduct the testing of INT smart contract in the process of technical adjustment; (100%)
  • The development of the functions related to the middleware intjs has been completed. At present, the technical team is drawing up relevant test plans and schedules. Testing will be conducted in succession.

BUSINESS COOPERATION

Current Progress

1. The development of Telecom smart gateway APP is completed

  • After completing the sampling of the router and starting the stability testing, the development and testing work of the corresponding APP is in progress. The guide page of the APP and LOGO has been completed, and the demonstration of the APP interface has been conducted at the same time. Now the team is fixing bugs. In addition, the application for software copyrights is also in progress.

2. Signed the contract with a prison in Lishui, Zhejiang

  • After INT finalized the cooperation plan on construction of smart information management system with a prison in Lishui, Zhejiang, the two parties reached an agreement after further negotiation on the project cooperation details, and finally finalized the contents of the contract. Currently both parties signed the contract.

3. Bid for a smart IoT project in a primary school in Quzhou, Zhejiang

  • INT was invited to participate in the bidding of a smart IoT project in a primary school in Quzhou, Zhejiang. At present, a series of technical solutions for the bidding have all been completed, and the bidding document has been submitted. In the document, INT gave a detailed explanation of the application and achievable effects of the IoT technology in the campus classroom electronic control system.

Next Step Plan

1. Continuous research and development of the smart gateway project

  • INT and Telecom will continue to develop and improve the function and execution page of the APP, complete the bug detection and fixing work on all functions and move forward on the product qualification and application of software copyright.

2. Leaders of Hubei Industrial Construction Group inspected the smart town

  • After the final acceptance of the pilot project of INT Smart Site by the leaders and technical experts of Hubei Industrial Construction Group in mid-September, the INT team has been communicating with the engineering group of HICC to achieve better operation and maintenance of the project. Recently, the leaders of HICC headquarters planned to inspect the smart town at the end of this month.

3. Continue the cooperation with a prison in Lishui, Zhejiang

  • INT and a prison in Lishui, Zhejiang finalized the cooperation plan for the construction of a smart information management system. After the signing of the contract, the INT technical team will have an in-depth communication with the party on the technical implementation rules.

4. Continue the bidding for a smart IoT project in a primary school in Quzhou, Zhejiang

  • In the next step, the two parties will conduct an in-depth discussion on the application of the IoT technology in the campus classroom electronic control system to confirm feasible solutions.

1. INT technical team attended the "Thunder Chain Technology Salon"

On October 13th, the INT technical team was invited to attend the "Thunder Chain Technology Salon" held in Hangzhou Shiliupu Coffee shop, which was organized by the Thunder Group, the Hangzhou Blockchain Technology and Application Federation and the GeekHub community for discussing blockchain core technology. The Salon gathered senior technical development leaders from Thunder Chain, domestic top university experts, blockchain application developers as well as technical experts, discussing blockchain multi-chain framework, application direction and technology selection strategy, and future blockchain technology development trends. During the event, the INT technical team conducted a discussion on the R&D of the INT project with the technical experts and enthusiasts on the scene.


2. Gaia design competition publicity

The Gaia design competition was successfully concluded. Thanks fans for the active involvement and enthusiastic support. We received a total of 70 designs from around the world. After voting from the INT community and the review of INT team, we have selected the following ten winning entries:


Next, the customer service staff will contact the winners to grant the awards and INT will produce the first batch of products. Thanks again to all the fans and supporters who have paid attention to and supported this event. 3. Gaia article competition selection and publicity

INT Gaia Article Competition submission ended on the 10th of this month. We have received a total of more than 50 articles from global technology enthusiasts, which elaborate the INT project from the perspectives of technical principles, industrial ecology, and commercial applications. Some of the outstanding works will be published in the INT developer community website (http://tech.intchain.io) and INT official social media. At the end of this month, we will publicize the final winning entries.

The INT Smart Contract
Multi-chain Contracts for IoT Use

Smart contracts have been an idea since 1994 when Nick Szabo first coined the term. Relating to the general idea of digitally facilitating and enforcing a contract, smart contracts have been implemented in a wide range of applications from the simple transferring of bitcoin to more complex trees of contracts that serve as the foundation of decentralized exchanges.

Ethereum is arguably the leader in this space with the ability for anyone to create a smart contract and publish it to the blockchain for the Ethereum Virtual Machine to process whenever called upon.



There is one major handicap in the smart contracts of today, they are only able to act with the data that they are given within the blockchain they reside in. This one-dimensionality limits the capability of the contracts to a small subset of applicability and makes the execution speed of the contract dependent on the congestion in the network at the time. Smart contracts for IoT use would have to be smarter, faster and able to utilize information automatically from multiple sources of differing types.

Data storage in the INT blockchain

INT’s multi-chain architecture allows for the creation of subchains based on IoT device or purpose. The idea is to create a network of blockchains, all specifically designed for each IoT device, separate in their function but connected at their core. It does this by treating each subchain as a partition of the state with the subchain nodes processing transactions separate from other chains in order to segregate congestion and maintain availability. With this splitting up of network traffic between subchains, contract execution on one chain is not dependent on congestion experienced in another.


By using namespace region declaration, all data within all subchains is stored in the Thearchy chain and available to any contract. This gives contracts the ability to act with input from different IoT devices and any transactions within the network.

The INT smart contract

INT’s aim is to create a network suitable for all IoT applications with smart contracts that are as easy to develop as they are to use. INT uses JavaScript, one of the most widely used languages, as the smart contract language paired with the powerful and proven Node.js run-time environment as the execution engine. This pair makes learning and development cost much lower than other proprietary language/VM choices.

Node.js allows developers to easily test smart contracts locally before publishing on the blockchain, further reducing development cost and risk of unknown vulnerabilities. It is specifically designed for throughput and scalability by taking the processing and execution of data and events outside what would be the Virtual Machine and processing it locally on the node. This allows for more network throughput and more complex contracts for cheaper gas consumption.

With Node.js, users can create modules that can handle various core functions of the INT network and all subchains. These use an API that standardizes function calls, greatly reduces the complexity of interacting with the network.


Using INT’s native namespacing and the Node.js API, creating powerful, multi-chain smart contracts will be simple and cheap.
