Even if in scrypt mode they run quite cool I don't think is a good idea to encase a bunch of modules into a 19x27 rack ... transfer out the heat could be quite a problem
Interested but the dimensions aren't quite what we are looking for.  Would much prefer something that fits within a standard data center cabinet (19"x27" max)

I made a wooden rig for myself which looks like your last drawing.
Better dissipation of heat is with the configuration on the upper floor (fan down).

So I can confirm this kind of design works.

Nice job! Looks like a nice weekend or evening project Wink
Care to share the specs / drawings, if any?
Parts, measurements, and so on.

Nice model, IHMO it could be really userful make the rigs stackable and cut some cost from the classic shelf...what do you think?

Any interest in making a variant that stacks 10 on top of 10 so that the floor space is halved?

Er, I only sent PMs to those I hadn't been in contact with before.

The one-tier case has 575x515mm (22.5x20-inches) of "floor" space, while the two-tier only has 310x515mm (12x20).  The 310mm/12-inch width of the two-tier case could be increased some to help mount all of the "accessories."   Wink

The slots in the support beams accept M3 nuts, but I have no idea with regards to the length(s) of bolts that are required to mount the myriad of other hardware.  Just let me know, and I will include them with the case.

Three of these would be pretty darn compact (2x 200mm fans):

Uhhh! Me too Smiley

Sexy!

Do you think its a bit too generous with the space at the side though? I am going to run these using one standard ATX PSU so i need space for that, two USB hubs and two tiny TPlink controllers only (taking 5V power from the PSU too).

Or - I need something to house 60pcs miners plus 3 ATX PSU, 6 usb hubs and 6 TPlink controllers?
