I guess it used to be ok before but now it's not a good thing to practice. If any DT finds out buying/selling BitcoinTalk accounts then both the buyer and seller will get tagged.

Besides, here is a reference...
20. There are restrictions when selling accounts and invites for invite-only sites. See https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=134779.0 [2][?]

Be happy be at peace. Looking forward to BTC at $1M

I dont see anything wrong in this. People actually work hard to rank up their accounts on the forum. If they cannot stay active on forum anymore, their account is getting inactive and they cannot contribute to forum anymore, why not earn some bucks out of it by selling the account? But, there should be a system where it can be checked whether the new owner of the account is worthy of such rank and whether he/she can contribute to the forum accordingly. Buying and selling of bitcointalk accounts cannot be stopped as there is no track on who sold it or who bought it. Same was with clash of clans game, if you know about it. It wasn't acceptable but anyways people used to buy/sell and trade their account.

18. Having multiple accounts and account sales are allowed, but account sales are discouraged.

This is already discussed before, you can try to read it here about what people said about selling account.
From what i see, if people caught selling an account, they will get tagged by dt members.

As stated above, account sales are allowed but it is highly discouraged. We dont want account sales so as a result, DT members are giving negative trust to them and they can do it since trust is unmoderated (did I get the right term? haha).

As well as you got answer from above. No restriction on account buy sale on forum. But is strongly discourage from admin side.
There is multiple risk if you attempt to buy or sale. Especially DT member's don't like account trade. If they know this account bought than they will tag account. Than account will almost useless.
On the other hand you might be scamed by seller or buyer. Probably account farmer hacked or stole account also. So there is risk for Scam.

Account selling is not prohibited by the admins, but is it acceptable? The only answer for that is NO that is why DT members are trying to tag every account farmers and farmed accounts they see in the forum. These farmed accounts are being used by people who want to join several bounty campaigns, the higher the rank they buy the higher the pay they will receive but the problem here is our forum is suffering in return as a lot of people are posting trash and shitpost in order to fulfill the post requirements of each signature campaign they join.

Also by buying off their product (farmed account) you are actually also contributing to the spam being produce in the forum, not to mention that you are also helping them continue with their business. Thankfully the merit system has given them big hit with their business as they cannot rank up their accounts easily anymore, when the sMerits of each account they have is fully exhausted their businesses would be over by now.

I don't understand, why the hell forum allowing people to trade accounts? they all scam and spam, merit is here to stop garbage posters from ranking up but we already have many high-rank accounts which are waiting to be sold on the forum using escrow agents to pass detection by DT members.

Please ban account sales.

I do see something wrong with this, as do many of the people on this forum. Aside form what has already been mentioned, these accounts can be used in an attempt to scam/cheat unsuspecting individuals. These accounts are tied to the people who built them, and as such those credentials, trust, being a big one should not be handed over to someone who did not earn it.

Quote
But, there should be a system where it can be checked whether the new owner of the account is worthy of such rank and whether he/she can contribute to the forum accordingly.

Seeing as the current system of DT members tagging these accounts is being circumvented, why would any system that makes the practice taboo or adds restrictions succeed in it's place.

Quote
Buying and selling of bitcointalk accounts cannot be stopped as there is no track on who sold it or who bought it.

It can't be stopped. What can be done is the incentive of big earnings and payouts can be taken away by tagging the accounts and the sellers

Same was with clash of clans game, if you know about it. It wasn't acceptable but anyways people used to buy/sell and trade their account.

Not the same in any realm

I dont see anything wrong in this.
You don't see anything wrong, because you're blind (or completely ignorant) to how scammers and shitposters use an account that's been ranked up.  Steamtyme has basically summarized why account sales are frowned upon here.  Using someone else's reputation and rank is deceiving, and in the past scammers have been known to leverage trust ratings to scam people out of money.  Imagine if a top-seller account on eBay had just been purchased.  The buyer of that account could easily leverage the account's reputation in order to get people to pay for items that don't exist.  That's exactly what happens in the case of bct accounts.

In addition, people buy accounts just for their rank, so that they can enter them into sig campaigns and start earning more money.  It's sickening.  A lot of DT members don't tag account sellers.  I happen to tag every one that comes to my attention, because I've seen to what end those sales can be put to.  I wish more DT members would tag account buyers & sellers, but everyone has to pick their battles.

As far as I understand, a holder of tag account is able to sent sMerits, am I right? If yes, then buyer of high level acc can create lots of accounts with Member rank and continue to participate in signature campaigns, as a result to bring tons of spam. Ofc there is a problem with number of post (more accs more posts every week), but as I see it's not a problem for these guys. Imbroglio ...

I totally disagree with Forum Account Selling because the previous owner build up high ranking accounts and made their name through the efforts and hardwork, through the ideas and positivity they've shared in the forum and also the amount of time they've invested. Then the buyer could use that forum for malicious purposes because if the buyer has good intent in the forum. He can always create a new account and start up from there. Sharing knowledge and learning as well in the process.
But it's all up to the owner and not to us Smiley But this is just my opinion.

I think everyone disagrees, but all of us realize that all of account buyers use it for earning money by means of participating in signature bounty campaigns or scaming people who blinded by high level of an account.

Totally agreed and I would suggest that tagging is not enough since trust only shown in some boards(even it didn't show in Meta). So how about DT members add short description or badge(like copper member) under their usernames along with the tag, would be easy to recognize their posting behaviours and the exact reason for buying a BCT account.

Buying bitcointalk account, that's were I think spamming of the forum originated from because those who buy it knows nothing or little about Cryptocurrency and their may aim is to make money with it Which is the reason they don't even care to know what thread or post is all about before replying it which leads to spam or posting out of point.
