Actually it depends on country based. Bitcoin is not available for legalilty in all the countries. There are many countries where bitcoin is not acceptable. But if people say that it is illegal, just skip them.

To someone who is close minded you simply won't be able to convince them other wise. The best explanation for me when people refer to BTC as something illegal, or only used by criminals, I simply reply that criminals also use, phones, and other devices / tools, and they are not considered illegal. I don't waste my time explaining what BTC really is. However if it is someone that simply made the comment, without knowing and is willing to learn (or at least hear a different opinion), then I am happy to sit down and discuss.

I know someone who always say that bitcoin is illegal because it is used for doing illegal things like terrorist funding, illegal pornography, narcotics trading and so on. I explained to him that it is not the main purpose of bitcoin. It is used primarily for the protection of your personal data when transacting and for smaller transaction fee.

If one person really want to do illegal things, he will do it no matter what. He can use fiat currency for their illegal work even without bitcoin.

If I hear someone say that bitcoin is an illegal thing then my conclusion is that he/she doesn't have knowledge about bitcoin and what he/she say is just came from a false hearsay from negative media, if I have a chance to tell him/her that bitcoin is not illegal but someone use it illegally by scamming people and use the name of bitcoin then I will do to make it clearly. Most government as of this time still doesn't adopt the blockchain system of crypto currency but it does not totally mean it is illegal.
