almost all the prices of altcoins are influenced by bitcoin, we can see in the trade market that all pairs are bitcoin. That's because bitcoin is the benchmark price for crypto coins. Crypto's biggest transaction volume is bitcoin.

Can someone tell me why the Alt coins price is affected so much my bitcoin price? I feel.like I'm investing in excellent altcoin projects but due to bitcoin they just seem to plummet........argggggg. Many thanks in advance

For me I can see that altcoins and bitcoin is not connected, "sometimes" why? it is because some altcoins stands independent because they have different investors who choose to hold, sell and trade which like to call marketing contro.

Yes it is a fact that sometimes when bitcoin goes down the specific altcoin goes down as well but that can be changed due to investors who seek to buy the specific altcoin they want.

To understand it, sometimes altcoin is independent and not it is because of the people who hold and buy altcoin.

In short they move because of the people who manipulates the market of the cryptocurrency.

I personally think it's related. Because of what? Bitcoin and Altcoin are still one family, namely cryptocurrency. And they are related. Price movements here will be interrelated. And we tend not to be able to predict this because cryptos are still very volatile,

Alot money go from btc to alt, and versa, when people feeel FOMO they take money from alt or from btc to invest in alts.
absolutely right, usually they always move and exchange their funds from alts to bitcoin or from bitcoin to alts. and that is what makes bitcoin prices sometimes inversely proportional to the price of alts.

Last year, 2017, when was a "big pump" the situation was absolutely different, when bitcoin grows up -  altcoins were falling down. That's very interesting situation.

The exchange rate of altcoins depends on the exchange rate of BTC is also understandable because the current BTC is the largest crypto value market, becoming dominant crypto so that when the BTC increase or decrease affect the exchange rate of the remaining altcoins.

The reason is the parity. Altcoin prices are dependent to bitcoin price where an altcoin price is for instance, ETH/BTC. When BTC price (denominator) increase more than the ETH price (numerator), then ETC loses price or vice versa.
yeah cause bitcoin is the mother of all the altcoins , so if btc down automaticly all altcoins down too. but if bitcoin
vice versa.

Altcoins are anything that ISNT Bitcoin. Bitcoin is not an Altcoin.

There is an opinion that the altcoins are a tool that facilitates getting bitcoin, since it all boils down to selling altcoin and buying bitcoin. Financial flows constantly flow from one crypto currency into another.

The altcoin and bitcoin in the cryptocurrency market are always closely linked. When a large number of investors sell bitcoin to buy other altcoins, you will see what you see!

Yeah I don't understand why people seem to think that they are directly connected. They have patterns, they follow similar paths sometimes, but no, they are not the same asset. Sometimes one goes up while the other goes down, but usually they aren't too far from each other. Just like silver and gold.

Altcoins have a lot of risk to be manipulated because the market cap is so small. Anyone with a few hundred thousand lying around can jump into a lot of different altcoins and smash the price around. Or just take the whole thing over with a 51% hack.

This is not entirely true, maybe in the past it was too related that every bitcoin dropped meant that altcoins rose and every bitcoin rose, altcoin dropped.
Since plunging into the trading world a year ago, there have been several altcoins that have no effect with the rise and fall of bitcoin but this year it has actually lost 50% of its value.
I think because of market demands, the lack of passion for the market and the lack of good news affect the price of altcoins today

I understand why the price depends on bitcoin, but it's already boring. When will there be a replacement for bitcoin?  It is not possible to see a potential leader in this huge amount of projects. I hope it will be possible to recognize good projects with Menlo.one soon.

it is best to invest only the money that you are willing to lose, it's like a casino, so if you lucky you happy, not lucky - forget it. There are a lot of speculators in the market, and I'm not sure about tomorrow.

I also began to get confused with the movement of bitcoin, because my altcoin was stuck very deep.
there is a strange thing because altcoin prices are very difficult to guess and confuse.

Almost every exchange tied the altcoins to BTC, if their not tied to ETH. That's why if BTC goes down, all crypto tokens will go down too in terms of USD price as it was tied to BTC. It's like the Law of Relativity or it's like how a specific market/country crashes when their currency crashes in value too in FORex. It's like a common occurrence in the market. Wether it be stocks or the crypto market.

Bitcoin is the first and most important electronic currency of the market. Bitcoin affects prices for the entire altcoin market. As Bitcoin prices slip, the rest of the money market will slip sharply. Conversely, when Bitcoin grows back, altcoins tend to work better

I think when the price of bitcoin begins to rise sharply, traders in fear of missing out on profits sell altcoins and buy bitcoin. And when the price of bitcoin drops sharply, traders looking at the best price of bitcoin also sell altcoins to buy cheap bitcoin.

The exchanges may give you a value based on bitcoin, but that's not tying them together. Just because it tells you that 1 altcoin is worth x bitcoin doesn't mean that if one goes up the other has to go down. These exchanges have no impact on the price.

Forex is the same. A dollar is the same whether it's valued in terms of euro, franc, gold, corn, or donkey pelts. When a trader decides to buy one and sell the other, of course he will impact the price of both. But that is the decision of the trader, not the exchange.
