I'm trying to understand how much one bitcoin (BTC) is worth today.
I've seen a discussion here about it (, but no concrete answer. I'm not interesting in the **cost of creating a bitcoin** (stuff like electricity/bandwidth), but rather in it's **buying power**.

Simply put it's worth exactly as much as anyone at any given moment is willing to give you for.

I think your best bet to find that out is to first visit:

You could go to and do a test without actually sending something to see how much USD you can buy right now.
