btw, another way to sync is to get bootstrap.dat and let wallet sync from it (place it in the same folder where wallet.dat is, on mac it's /Users/<your username>/Library/Application Support/Coin2.1/ ).

That's not the "clean" bootstrap as it should be, that's just renamed blk0001.dat but it should work almost the same (will require few "reorganize" actions but this will happen automagically and will not require any action from you, so it should work fine afaik).

It will take a while and gui will not show up until sync is done so it could look like nothing is happening (or even Coin2.1-Qt will be shown as "Not Responding" in Activity Monitor) but just let it run. You might also need to delete blk* files before trying to use this method but I'm not sure about this.

In case you are on mac you can make sure that process is running fine by tailing debug.log in Terminal like this:
tail /Users/<your username>/Library/Application Support/Coin2.1/debug.log | grep height
or
tail -f /Users/<your username>/Library/Application Support/Coin2.1/debug.log | grep height
"-f" should give you a lot of output (hit "ctrl + C" to stop tailing - I'm sure you don't want these 183k+ lines to be output one by one in next hour or so  )
Interesting part there is "height" which is current block being processed.

I tested this by myself and on my mac I was able to sync from scratch in about one hour and ten minutes.

PS. might be a good idea to place link to bootstrap.dat (or link to this message) in OP

Im thinking bounty to indie game/app developers for games submitted to utilize c2 integration.  We can flood all the game/app development blogs with our bounties.  Who else is up for this?  Devs I motion to using some of the surplus for this. That is unless there is a plan to use otherwise.  The OP has on there "bounties coming soon". But no bounties have been posted in months.  Please let us know if there is an intended use for that already. Thanks

Being impatient in crypto doesn't pay. You guys knows there is development being made behind this coin, it's all about patience.

No communication from devs (Zyronx is doing well but he is the only one here). I said it before, we need to know whats up with game developpment, its the fondations of this coins and we are blind. Will sell my 2.3 millions coins to the best offer, thats it.

All ideas are welcome at this point. Lets get productive in the brain storming area to help move this coin going forward

I know some of devs worked really hard on this project and i understand how is can be long to create an entire game (more when you have a personnal life), that's why im holding coins since 6 months, but what's happening with COC project (the main project not minecraft or other stuff) ?? no one seem able to respond at this question... Are we going to have a demo soon ? what percentage the project is ? Who is working on it and why they dont make little updates about it ? I seriously have the feeling we are all at a big concert and waiting for the last band who choked at last time and Zyronx is trying to keep us all quiet on scene during the time we are waiting this band that'll never come...

I used to hold a good amount of Coin2. The price was going up, I was staking, and then all the sudden the coin was under attack once again. Everyone held tight, and after an extremely long wait and the supply of coins doubling as the price quartered, I got the same number of new coins distributed to me. I got my coins without hassle, but there was really no oversight as to who held all the leftover coins. I sold all my coin 2 at 100 satoshi (a tenth of my purchase price).

The game hasn't been shown to be developed one iota in the few months. Don't tell me that developing games "takes a long time". I've developed games before and know people who have created similar fps games. I'm familiar with 3d modeling and making a few halfway showcase-able levels should take no where near as long as it has been taking. There has been absolutely no proof shown of actual development. There has been absolutely no proof that Joel is back, as more than one username (not necessarily more than one person any more) knows its password.

I don't have any monetary skin in this game, just empathy for those still holding. Something smells fishy, from the lack of evidence of actual work, the lack of proficiency in all development, and the general redistribution of coins. Don't keep anything in C2 that you aren't 99% comfortable with losing.

P.S. I don't want to wreck any investments. This is not any trading advice. This is just a concerned observer.

Yes games do take a long time. especially when the Developers only have a couple hours a day or so to work on it. for the fps we only have one C++ programmer.  he has a family, school, and I think outside work as well.  so his time is so limited. We are doing our best to find someone to help. yet no programmers want to work for crypto.  We have got no money for anything development. the only way is to sell c2, yet at these prices it is a waste of time. most programmers want hundreds of dollars a day to program.  We have looked.  I'm learning UE4 right now, yet my computer sucks and is way below the required specks.  

I understand you all are frustrated. We all believe in C2, yet with no programmers believing it. its impossible to get this done in a fast way. One reason we spread the c2 intergration to other games that will take less time. Yet we still need programmers to get those done.  OldandGrey is doing awesome work.  Yet that means we only have 2 total programmers.  I believe OLdandGrey is a Java guy.  So tell me when other game people have 15 to 20 and it takes them a year sometimes more to get a decent game out. and when only have 1 programmer. see the picture.  If you know programmers start talking to them. And if they can help out with the possibility of making some cash when the time is right. We need it.

If I could get a better computer I would be doing a lot more on my part. Hopefully soon, when something kicks in. I can't even concentrate on my web series till I can figure out how this side going. Whats the point doing a show with nothing to report.

If any of you have any ideas of what we should do. Please let me know, I need to know.

Also to add to the above.  No one that is working on this coin development, Other then me. Are full time. all the others are part time.
I spend 8 to 10 hours every single day, learning from videos, blogs, pdf, and many other things to learn UE4 and other gfx software.

This is the problem right here. The coin hasn't achieved any of its promises.

I understand the precarious nature of your situation, but there are some hands dealt that need to be folded. This appears to be one of those hands. You seem like a decent guy, it might be best if you focus on more sustainable endeavors to support yourself.

If you stick it through and somehow this succeeds I'll be sincerely happy for you. Maybe this is my version of an intervention, but it's depressing to watch somebody throw months of their life away for no good reason.

I'm not throwing my life away for no reason. Learning UE4 is a valuable skill.
I plan on this succeeding. We are just under funded and under manned.
Once we fix that, the momentum will pick up. I got faith. I have been here since the start as well.

With UE4 skills, who knows i could work for Epic or some other game studio in a couple years
