why you guys being so unreal! Still believe in it?
That's the great thing about belief, no rational requirement.
In my personal estimation, I believe a Flying Spaghetti Monster is taking a break from CoC beta testing to brew a cup of tea in Bertrand Russell's teapot on the dark side of the moon.
in my case it was never about irational beliving or faith that something good is going to happened without reason.
i call it sixth sense, it is something i rely on, it goes with effort
I think what your referring to, the sixth sense, the gut instinct, is the unconscious processing of external stimulus then presentend to your conscious attention in symbolism, as the feeling or the dream.
Given the presentation to the mind of millions (yes, millions) of external stimuli through sensory preseption of the environment and that one may consciously (to act consciously is to invoke purposeful effort) only process aproximetly 40 (that's, 40 out of millions) of these stimuli at any point in time, the unconscious processing resulting in the feeling then represents a call to purposeful action based on orders of magnitude more information (though more superficially) than would ever be processed consciously.
That being said, the feeling is incredibly powerful and should never be ignored (that is not to say acted upon, simply not to be discounted without extensive investigation).
However, as I said previously, the conscious effort is purposeful, it requires effort, it then follow that the unconscious feeling, being unconscious requires no direct effort to be felt, just as the other unconscious actions of the body, the beating of the heart and the taking of breath do not require effort.
So your feeling, if it requires effort, is not then the dealing invoked by unconscious reasoning and should not be given the same weight or investigation.
Suppose then that a mistake has been made! The feeling was not invoked with effort buy unconsciously and should be given weight and subjected to investigation!
I would assert (that is too say I make a claim without direct evidence), that a feeling invoked can be roughly classified as net good or net bad (joy vs. anger or fear), which then would represent as positive or negative feeling about a situation.
I would then further assert that there are stimuli in the present situation that present a pattern to a comparable to a situation previously experianced and thus known.
You may approximate the process as follows:
The set of stimuli in the present is then compaired to the past situation and the similarity between the two sets quantified (given a number based on how much they match, say a number between 0 and 100), then given a positive or negative sign based on the positive or negative outcome that arouse from the previous set of stimuli, say -1 for bad outcome (a good outcome needing no positive sign as the product of two positive).
100% match to a previous set? and the previous set produced a bad outcome, -1, the -1x100 = -100% and the feeling invoke is -100% good, which restated is 100% bad.
The bad feeling then is calling you to act upon the recognition that the current stimuli, or situation, matches are previous set corresponding to a known bad situation.
So if you have a good feeling, your telling me that this situation, this set of stimuli, is similar to a situation you previously experianced resulting in a positive outcome for you.
Ok then, you have my attention.
Tell me all about how this past situation, how is it similar to c2 and how did it end well?
