Everyone can use bitcoin on what want. They can use Bitcoin for what they wish to: paying for purchases, buying a car or a motorbike if they're going to, only the payee accepts your form of payment given. I saw a video about using Bitcoin to live for a day, and they did not have too much trouble so you can use Bitcoin freely.

Yes ofcourse everyone is free to use Bitcoin as they want; trade, hodl, spend etc. That means bitcoin was the answer and we got it now thankfully.. Unfortunately you can use Bitcoin in bad ways too :/ I wish all the scammer goes away and we live cryptos cleanly..  

Oh well, it means that there's always two sides on a coin. Obviously, we can do whatever we want with our coins, however, we should be intelligent enough on how we are going to spend it. Are we going to used it for gambling or would rather hold on it for a long time? And as far as scammers, I'm sorry but they won't simply go away, I don't know how to say it, but it looks like crypto has becoming the bread and butter and becoming the milking ground for scammers.

The value of bitcoin as an asset is in the fact that it can be used as a currency. Bitcoin is taking its first steps in the world, that's why it's used mainly for investing. But in the near future it will become a normal means of payment. That's why we're here. We don't need bitcoin as an asset only, do we?

Yes bitcoin is free to use by anyone as long they know how it works and its process because to those who don't have knowledge it is not easy to use it. They can use it as mode of payments, money transfer, investment, extra income and other thing. Its up to us how we use it.

I think all sides kinda miss the point of Bitcoin. Bitcoin was created so people can send coins directly to others, without any mandatory middleman. Therefore, every use case is as legit as any other use case, it doesn't violate the freedom of any other user of the network. It doesn't even matter if Satoshi wanted Bitcoin to be a decentralized currency that will kill banks, because one of the principles of Bitcoin is censorship resistance, so if some people want to use centralized services, want regulated environments, speculation and so on, it's their right. All those things have no effect on people who want to use Bitcoin as an alternative currency.

So, I think there is no single answer to whether Bitcoin is an asset or a currency, everyone decides for themselves, because freedom is the ultimate point of Bitcoin.

in my opinion, bitcoin is better as an asset, because if it is considered a currency, the price is not fixed one day makes people think it's a price game, but if bitcoin is an asset just like gold, because the price changes, and the excess of bitcoin is a transaction fast

Yes, because bitcoin is an asset and at the same time like a currency because it has a digital value equivalent for USD, but as of today we cannot easily direct use bitcoin to buy good on any establishment because still limited numbers of  establishment adapting on it, but we can use by converting first into fiat for our local money but you should observed the market situation that its not good to sell bitcoin on this dip.

Of course, everyone can free to use bitcoin as they want but not in illegal way, always remember we must use bitcoin in legal ways so that we can get benefits from it. We shouldn't imitate people who are doing bad things just to cheat other people. Make good things anytime and anywhere.

obviously! but they are not free to disturb everything else because they are using bitcoin as they want. for example the weak hands that have been feeding the whales and panic selling and FOMO buying bitcoin at every turn and increasing the volatility have been disturbing the market. they have been also preventing adoption of bitcoin as a currency because of the huge volatility that they cause. and a lot of other problems.

This sounds exactly like the words of interventionists who say that they want to protect the market from speculators, irrational behavior, risks and so on. Are you suggesting that Bitcoin owners should be prohibited from selling their coins under certain circumstances? That would be not only immoral from ethical point of view and against Bitcoin's core principles, but also harmful to the ecosystem, because such blatant interventions always make things worse instead of fixing them.

I don't say "prohibited" but more like guided or educated. and it is not just selling but also buying.

for example I always tell everyone not to sell AFTER the price has dropped down. if they wanted to sell then they should have sold when the drop was starting and price was still high. but after it has dropped for example 10%, or specially the iconic 30% drops of last year, it is already too late but many of them don't listen. what they do is that they sell at the bottom after a huge loss and increase the volatility then since price recovers right after they sold they FOMO buy back at a higher price increasing the volatility even more.

this market is still young and filled with whales with experience and lots of lambs who are losing money.
not that this has nothing to do with bitcoin and its core principles, it is about the market and price and not giving your money to the manipulators.

I definitely agree with saying that freedom is the ultimate point of Bitcoin. But today Bitcoin is more asset, then a currency, because of high transaction fee and volatility. Lightning technology can change this situation.
