Starting with 17 merits awarded to some of my old Jr. Member posts by people who remember them, I reached the Hero threshold of 500 merits within 27 days, 8 hours, 16 minutes, 22 seconds of active posting.  All in all, from the moment that theymos announced the merit system, it took me 32 days, 9 hours, 14 minutes, 51 seconds to go from zero to Hero

Exactly. nullius crossed the 100, 250 and 500 merit thresholds on January 31, February 7 and 26, 2018, respectively.

I noticed that nullius is rated 6th in all the lists of users who received enough merits to rank up to Full Member, Sr. Member and Hero Member. Perhaps this is his lucky number.

This is a really awesome thread, I do not frequent at Meta board but this is the first time that I have seen this thread. I am really happy that there are members ranking up, hopefully we can see some newbie turn into junior members and juniors turn into members and so on. I appreciate your opinion. As I can see on your profile, your "posting game" is not bad. You earn merits not quickly but your messages are meaningful and quite coherent.

By the way, I do not list users who have ranked up to Juniors or Members. In this thread I mention new Full Members and above. In general, I advice you to read the Meta section more often.

Thank you for mentioning me again, Coin-1, in this topic of yours! As always, it is a great honor and joy for me to see my name mentioned here! It's been a long run to reach this point, time-wise (although merit-wise I became eligible almost a year ago), but at least I have no longer the Sr. Member rank, which made me feel so old Still talking about time, I have now another long run until I'll reach the Legendary rank. I met the merits treshold a while ago but still, I have to meet also the activity requirement and this means a time probably as long as the time I spent for becoming Hero, if not even longer. I just hope I won't be as unlucky as coinlocket$, which had to wait until he reached 1030 activity points in order to become Legendary.

Besides, the last link I inserted was from a thread which I, for one, found very useful: Legendary Rank up Observer. Unfortunately, this topic of TheBeardedBaby is discontinued. And the same happened with Self-made Legendary Observer, which was another interesting thread. By mentioning them here, I hope that maybe some forum statistician would be interested in resurrecting these topics in a form or another and continue them.

I suppose that some data comes from https://bpip.org/ but is there some manual work involved here or most of it is just a report from numerous data sources, some not public available and thus made by you for this project?

I suppose that some data comes from https://bpip.org/ but is there some manual work involved here or most of it is just a report from numerous data sources, some not public available and thus made by you for this project?

In 2018, I created a special application that analyzes all merit transfer transactions and works with the database. I regularly download the weekly published dumps and copy these XZ files containing the raw data to the appropriate directory.

My tool does not use data from "bpip.org" website created by Vod and continued by suchmoon, but sometimes I use this helpful service to manually compare my numbers with the results of other statisticians.

I also use the "banned.txt" file maintained by LoyceV. His great tool monitors the forum modlog every day and spots all recently banned users.

To determine the likely local board of a ranked up member, I manually check his/her message history. I often read the merited posts and almost always find them interesting.
